This isn’t even an op piece of util, they just keep lowering skill level. Most of the util they are nerfing wont matter unless ur good enough to actually abuse them, and if you are, ur opponents are usually good enough to deal with it as a point. I mean, just look at them adding agents like Tejo. Riot are tripping.
The cam positions are obvious tho, most maps only have a few really good slots. You also can see the cam even if it isn’t popped and get a sound cue when it is popped. Cyphers not even op rn, this is just lowering skill level
wtf are riot doing bro
Are they ok???
Skye dog change, omen one way change, raze satchel nerf then this…
Who are they even appealing to bro bronzes/irons are the minority of player base
What are they gonna do next, automatically make ur player model turn from flashes?
I want to post a certain copy pasta so bad but I don’t think it’s valid anymore after they actually won a tournament
Benching or removing him would be the height of idiocy. He’s not just a fantastic caller, but he micromanages mid rounds and multiple players like derke and Alfajer has said he helps them improve off the server as well. I personally do think them losing the final was partially his fault, but his impact outside of the finals was unreal and removing him would the height of stupidity.
He was shooting fine honestly, it’s only the grand finals he played terribly. It wasn’t just shooting,. His decision making was very questionable at times. Prolly just pressure/nerves
I wanted to help him shoot a little better 🥲
Wish it had gone 5 maps man Alfa was on pace for 125
Only reason why fnc made it as far as they did was blasters calling. That being said, 13 first deaths on smokes and going -30 makes an impact when there was a 13-11 and a 14-12 map losses. Fnc got first bloods a lot and had good calls but boaster died early and failed to get trades.
I agree champs is harder to win, but to play devils advocate, wouldn’t more teams make it easier? If there are 8 teams, you have to play the TWO best teams from each region to win the trophy. On the other hand at champs, there’s a chance you could play the 3rd or 4th best team from the region.
Yeah I’d prolly agree. I think jingg played really well in like 3-4 of the playoff games until the grand finals tho, pleasantly surprised. He barely even threw so something caught all the flack.
Is he more impactful because his kills and fragging were more impactful or simply because his team was a lot shittier? Would you say Aspas has more impact on lev than loud simply because he needs to carry more?
I do agree that his Toronto performance is still unbelievably impressive, definitely the highest tournament long peak we’ve seen since demon1 at champs 23.
Forsaken or jingg > Davai if ur looking at the whole tourney. Even in grand finals forsaken top fragged every map prx actually won.
He was by far fnc best player in Toronto unlike in Tokyo with competition from chron and Leo, but he still had some whiffs and one slow and one mid match. At Tokyo, dude was untradeavle hitting like 10 clutches and multi kills a map and had an unreal grand finals.
This is true, but EG champs > fnatic Tokyo. Ascend champs > gambit Berlin, loud champs > optic Reykjavik, etc. it’s because of what fnatic gambit and optic did the rest of the year that puts them as the best team of the year.
I 100% agree. Was just discussing this with someone else on the same thread. I would put edg over th for the year though since did actually get the crucial grand finals win and did beat heretics to do it, but I’d prolly have geng over both.
I personally think edg winning champs was more impressive geng winning shanghai, but geng were better across alll of 2024, because they also had a second place whereas edg struggled outside of champs. I do think champs win > masters alone because more teams + later on in year = more competition.
Yoyo, 5CM, and hfmi0dzjc9z7
Where the fuck are Tyloo finding these people bro
My apologies, I actually watched those games too I’m just an idiot. I also did think Madrid was a fluke until champs (several Madrid rosters were missing players), so I’ll hold off on the t1 slander until champs. They were my fav apac team at the start of the year due to being a buzz fan so I’m definitely rooting for their comeback
Does that mean optic are STILL better than fnc all time? Reykjavik was pretty Mickey Mouse iirc
Riot changes the meta too often. Also, individual skill matters less than being good at whatever the meta agent in your role is in whatever specific meta is currently going on. Aspas and derke less and Alfajer are all goat front runners because killjoy/viper/jett have been meta for nearly valorant’s lifespan.
Cap. He had 1.7 fucking KD in Tokyo. He did hard carry more in Toronto but he literally couldn’t miss at Tokyo
Prx at Toronto being a fluke win is absolute stupidity, it’s just happened and they dropped literally one map in playoffs. EDG didn’t fluke champs either, since they placed 3rd at Bangkok right after. T1 at Bangkok is a bit flukey imo, because they failed to even make domestic playoffs afterward, and DRX, vitality, and trace all failed to make Toronto (literally 3/8 of the tourney), so you could argue that the only really impressive win was over g2 and edg.
Part of it is kickoffs flukey single bracket system that qualifies potentially the wrong teams to the tournament anyways. However, I don’t want to call it a complete fluke because autumn is fucking around removing sylvan and putting meteor on tejo so honestly idk.
Good catch brotha
S. Newzera (Ryuukami vouched for him)
Idk really know this is just based on purely fragging in the last 2 years and nothing else. I’m prolly forgetting some really obvious people
There are definitely those slower paced teams that pose problems if geng are having a bad aim day. We also have to be worried about textured form, he looks incredible but can he be consistent? Can foxy9 step up in big games if he or Karon aren’t feeling it? I’d favor geng against a lot of the top teams still though, especially wolves and prx.
This non tejo meta is amazing for geng’s comps and play style though. I have high expectations coming into champs. I think teams that play similar to geng (g2, fnc, wolves) will be tough matchups but geng can deffo beat them.
He didn’t really. His rating is really high because his team got shit stomped but he barely had a 1 kd. A respectable performance but certainly not a mvp.
He did put up insane performances against g2, prx and wolves, all teams that were better than geng. Obviously texture did shit on prx in Swiss.
Agreed with ur points. I was curious because I’ve heard some people say it’s the same, some people say it’s more impressive than one masters but not as impressive as two. I’ve heard some people say one champs is two masters, and still others say any numbers of masters will never equal champs.
Individually yes. You could argue that Alfajer put up nearly as good performances against better teams tho.
Fuck no, texture can still win another trophy with geng and hyunmin is the second to last player that should be dropped from DRX
Yeah, I’m just looking at the year as a whole. Since Tejo got nuked, and even during the meta yoru and double duelist we’re still reasonably popular.
I can see why you believe that for sure, I just disagree with the idea that masters is only really a qualifier for champs. Unpopular opinion but I would regard any two masters (even if not back to back) more impressive than a champs as long as one of the masters isn’t from Stone Age valorant. I mean, how many rosters have won two trophies in valorant, even if not back to back? (Sen don’t count since it’s only tenz) There are 4 different rosters than won champs in comparison, despite champs being far lesss frequent than masters.
I think double elim suits valorant more than cs tho since valorant is a lot more flukey than cs due to abilities and constantly changing metas. In CS, I feel the better team usually wins, but not necessarily true in valo. Also, I like double elim allowing teams to either beat someone twice and prove that it wasn’t a fluke or for a team to recover from a fluke loss and complete a lower bracket run.
Yeah but this isn’t LOL. The name of the tourney matters fuck all. The best team of the year is not an official title, since the best team in the world changes 3 times across the year at each intl tourney. The fans choose it based on whoever was the most consistent team across the year. Winning champions means you won champions, not the two other masters or that u were the best team for the other 8 months of the year.
Yeah I think I clocked a bit late that I’m just getting ragebaited
Shoulda noticed immediately when he brought up viewership Lmaoooo
Good point, but there’s usually a general trend. 2022 was chamber, 23 was viper harbor, 24 was neon and omen, 25 so far seems to be a lot of yoru and double duelist
That’s just the name of the tournament bud. It would only determine the best team of the entire year if it was the ONLY international tournament the whole year.
But why? Riot says so, so it’s more impressive? What does winning an intl tournament mean? It means your the best team itw. Winning champs is more impressive because it’s end of the year and harder format, but winning TWO masters means you’ve proven the best team in the world twice and held that title for longer.
Factually based on what tho? Riot says champs is the most important tournament, but they never said that it determines who the best team across the year is. What facts is this from? The best team of the year is opinion based mostly. If you win champs you get the glory of winning the important and most impressive tournament of the year. That’s all you factually achieve.
Idk how ur misunderstanding me. A champs win is more impressive and valuable than a masters win. But two masters win is more valuable than a single champs win.
$5 < $9, but 2*$5 > $9
It isn’t as valuable as two masters trophies combined. It’s more valuable than one, less valuable than two imo.
Do you believe that two back to back masters wins is more impressive than a singular champs win then?
That’s like saying that winning kickoff is more impressive than winning stage 1 or 2 due to frequency. I also don’t know if ur misunderstanding me; I agree that winning champs > masters, but winning two events in a single year (two masters specifically) is more impressive than one champs.
But champs is just one tournament. You could be dog awful the whole year, be insane at champs, then go straight back to being shit after. I’m not saying this is edg, but how does it proves that they were the best team of the year? In valorant where repreat winners and back to back winners are far rarer than champs winners, winning one tournament isn’t more impressive than two.
I can see ur point, but don’t you think winning a 12 team masters is more impressive than an 8 team one for an example? Do you think winning a round robin format where you have to beat all the other teams (for an example, masters doesn’t use this) is more impressive than a single elim bracket? (Due to lucky bracket chance?)
I don’t get what ur point is. I’m arguing two masters is worth more than one champs. There both international tournaments so I don’t get why your point applies.
