99% online with offline studio production probably

They ran Stage 2 SEA Playoffs last year and it went pretty smoothly, also look at the Challengers ID VODs and you'll see they had a pretty baller Virtual Studio.

Look. I have qualms about the regional slotting, sure. But you can't fucking deny that Cerberus did their best in VN and made the most out of their time in the APAC Playoffs.

FULL SENSE and Gaimin weren't consistent enough. In the end, consistency, even in regional context is valuable long term when it comes to inter-regional growth.

To olof:

I can accept Fancy United, but Cerberus stole a slot from someone like Full Sense and Gaimin Gladiators, who are clearly better but qualified to APAC only once and got less points, due to high competition in their leagues (Vietnam has no competition and 3 slots)

What in the world are you saying? You're saying that FULL SENSE, who underperformed during both Stage 1 and Stage 2 REGIONALLY, deserved more than Cerberus who while arguably got a bit depowerwd in Vietnam, capitalized off their competition and make every single chance count?

What kind of privilege bullshit is that?!

Fed? Jesus christ you're delusional. It's based off their performance from Stage 1 and 2. Riot didn't fucking fed them anything.

The problem is you can't simply patch-fix someone into a team. Although Nakya has a slightly wider agent pool than BerserX, you can also chalk it up to the strategies the team is playing. BOOM iirc allows BerserX to freely move in support of fl1p while Nakya is pretty much the driving engine of the offense.

Iirc not for in-arena casting. For example, Worlds 2019 Finals had French announcers and casting(?) because of some local law, right? I think that's what he was asking in regards to

posted about a year ago

Well the rest of APAC wasn't exactly clueless against PRX. Every APAC team to a certain extent had the capability to shine with their own playstyle. PRX just fucking outaimed, outmanned, and outstratted their way onto a Copenhagen slot.

For once, I agree, who cares? Let them be. We have our own lane, they have their own.

If that's Esports Chart, do remember they don't like to include co-streams.

Not one to overestimate, but not one to underestimate either. Lakia and numerous teams have said in the past that every time they play/scrim Chinese teams, they are super "in-your-face" playstyle and very aggressive mechanically. EDG is more towards this style, and KONE balances both set plays and aggressive mechanical/DM style.

Stronger than KR? Eh, it depends really. First test.

Pretty sure one of the rumors I've heard there'll be a cycle of assessment, last I know was four years

posted about a year ago

Will that ensure they survive for four years until the next assessment for new franchising teams?

posted about a year ago

It's actually a pretty big industry, especially in Southeast, East, and South Asia where a computer might not be accessible for half of the population, but a phone with decent features and a connection to mobile data can mean the entire world for aspiring gamers. Heck, I play mobile games for a quarter of my free time. I much prefer LoL Wild Rift over the PC counterpart.

Mobile esports like MLBB, Arena of Valor, Wild Rift, PUBGM/BGMI are household names that draw franchising leagues and millions of dollars in prizepools. High-profile teams compete in these games.

Not confirmed but it is what it was rumored in some reports earlier

posted about a year ago

Already rumored:

APAC: Seoul
EMEA: Berlin
NA: LA

posted about a year ago

Americas: Logical since LA is home to Riot's main office anyways. The LCS is headquarters in, a lot of Riot's infrastructure already centralized within LA.

APAC: Yeah, logical too. You can't count out Seoul as the esports powerhouse. While they are using the Sangnam Coliseum (former OGN studios), I can imagine LoL Park as a possible venue as well.

Berlin: Again, logical. The LEC has its studios there and Challengers EMEA also headquartered themselves in Berlin.

Look no further than Dota 2 Reborn - It's basically Dota 2 being ported over to Source 2. Besides new physics, graphics, and mechanics, it's still Dota 2. Just a bit fresher and shinier.

Honestly, I do. League and Worlds was my first introduction to Riot and its esports scene and while I'm a literal shitter at League PC (Wild Rift is more my jam), the esport is so intricate and nuanced with different playstyle that I stuck around.

Also Riot production banger and I still remember just chuckling when Valorant folks gets a taste of it the first time Reykjavik 2021 had the LAN teasers.

Forced: obtained or imposed by coercion or physical power.

Mandatory: required by law or rules; compulsory.

Obviously there's a LOT beyond dictionary meanings but there's a stark difference.

Unless there's significant changes within the OW scene, I don't think so, unsure however. The Chinese OW scene is arguably in a much better state than its Western counterpart (ignoring the amount of Korean players in each respective divisions) and is more lucrative for better or for worse.

OW players might migrate, might not, but Valorant hopefully will forge their own path

Esports collegiate is really an upcoming programme that is rising not just in the US, but all around the world. It's very beneficial for upcoming talent to pour their efforts in alongside their academic activities. Heck, the prize pool isn't too bad either for some of these events.

posted about a year ago

I'd urge you to watch the League of Legends College Championship. It is run by the same association (RSAA) and see the people who are playing in them. These aren't frat teams. These are teams that has official support from the universities they're in and have proper facilities.

posted about a year ago

sorry, we need to go through an APAC playoffs first; even with all Indo teams in the Playoffs we still can't make it bruh

posted about a year ago

You'd be surprised with how extensive Riot's collegiate program is. The more well known is LoL's College Championship and honestly, I'd be damned if Valorant wasn't eventually added

Bruh it wasn't. Lev lirerally bombrushed the site in panic.
