It's not about the meme. The meme is fine. I don't mind it, and it's in all good fun. But when you're a journalist or reporter (like George and others), gathering information and trying to clarify whether or not this is a meme or a legit thing (XSET did this once with their own R6 player) and to consider Shroud actually signed to Sentinels, people are just doing their due diligence and make sure this isn't some level 100 bait.

Surprisingly it's a tad bigger than OCE, IIRC. Those three are the smallest but I'd argue Vietnam has more Riot support and HK/TW has at least more leeway as one of the original five subregions of SEA.
It's by far the smallest subregion population-wise within APAC. The scene is recovering from what happened last year. It's not dead, but it's just there.

I really don't mind the comments saying CN teams will struggle - while they consistently scrimmed against other APAC teams, there are some aspects of their strats and gameplay that show they're just one step behind the more established teams. I have similar sentiments, but I have certified Chinese Valorant Copium and I am excited to see some extra entertaining gameplay.

Numerous teams have scrimmed CN teams in the past and have been terrorized by them for better or for worse. They might be not as good as some upper echelon Asian teams (to be determined at E-A LCQ,) but bringing a team from a region that has the aggressiveness of Paper Rex x 10 (per se,) can be one hell of an entertaining show.
Recount that Lakia said CN teams were super aggressive and Redkoh (formerly of LVR) have said CN teams were one of the few that made them sweat kinda

I'm not going to say shit because by far OCE has been on the literal end of the bad stick between a slot removal, apparent bad communication from the league ops to the teams, and the fact Riot NA tried to murder the OCE ecosystem at the start of Valorant. They're still a ways off, but damn if they're not filled with amazing and talented players.

Actually, they do have some rock and heavy metal in the past. Search up Pentakill, they opened up LCS before. League often steers toward pop music and EDM, while Valorant is geared toward club-adjacent music, and heavy, electronic styles.

Fellas, it's not match-fixing. whz cannot carry the entire damn team. As mediocre as ASE were, they only lost to NTER and KONE. Those teams were behind TOE before this loss.
As much as I hate the cynicism of the posts above me, I do agree that they are talented players, but there's something... missing. I don't mind if OCE players pop up in other regions but having been a spectator when Riot NA almost killed OCE in League and early Valorant, I just want them to flourish organically in their domestic region, not saying an international excursion won't do them any good.

China isn't part of the VCT. The game isn't officially out in China, and China's path to the LCQ is designated as a third-party event. The rule only applies, like cyk said, when both teams are participating in an official VCT-sanctioned event.

LP likes to add the minimum amount of circuit points a team gets at a certain point, and if the team let's say managed to qualify from Play-Ins to Group Stages, the threshold is raised. It can lead to confusion. Paper Rex DOES NOT have 345 points. The 45 points is from the minimum points you get finishing 5th-6th in Playoffs. They have 300 points.
It's possible, he's taking the piss. There's a chance Paper Rex does lock in for Champions, but you need at least 600 points or more to properly secure a 1st or even a 2nd seed (like how Optic is right now.) It's based on the assumption that no team would be able to match Paper Rex's 4th place finish (which is worth 300 points, the amount they have right now.) Even a 5th-6th place finish would equal the amount, let alone 3rd or 4th which amounts to 500 and 400 respectively.
