FPX didn't make LCQ because there were 3 different Masters 1's, so EMEA points were heavily inflated. The EMEA LCQ cutoff was 110 points, while the NA one was 50. I'm certain this won't be a problem next year.

I think it's hard to balance it that way without completely devaluing tournaments early in the year.

The Iceland teams that qualified for champions like X10, Vikings, and Crazy Raccoon didn't qualify just because of Iceland, but because they also won Masters 1. The combination of Masters 1 points and Iceland points was too much for teams that only qualified for Berlin to pass them, especially since they couldn't make it far in the tourney. Teams that only did well in stage 2, like V1, Liquid, Fnatic, Sharks, and Nuturn all got overtaken in points by Berlin teams.

Sentinels play vs Furia. In the third map, Sen is up 12-4. Furia have a 5 round win streak before there is a 15-20 minute tech pause. The tech pause ends, and Sen immediately win and close out the game. Brazilians are mad at Sentinels and complain that the tech pause halted their momentum. It gets worse when they found out that the tech pause was to investigate Xand for jumping up onto the Haven C box without using updraft, even though it's a completely legal jump.
The next day, Brazil score their first win over a major region team, beating out Acend 2-1. However, later that night, Riot overturns the results of the match, because Jhow used an illegal cam on Breeze. Jhow used the cam on 6 defensive rounds, 4 of which Vivo Keyd won, so Riot gives those rounds to Acend, changing the score from 13-8 to 12-9 for Acend, and then they give Acend an extra round to "account for economic impact". Brazil is very mad, so Riot reconsider the ruling.
Yesterday, Vikings played against Gambit. Vikings are up 12-5 on the third map. Miraculously, Gambit mount an insane comeback, winning 9 rounds in a row, and win the series. Shahzam then tweets a joke that Vikings should have called a tech paues.
https://twitter.com/ShahZaMk/status/1467195145703637003
This spawns some argument between Shahz and some Brazilians in the comments, and then zombs comes and says this:
https://twitter.com/zombs/status/1467278059678146565
All hell breaks loose.
Finally, today, Riot made a decision on the Vivo Keyd vs Acend game, and they replay Breeze, but Acend starts the map up 7-0. Vivo Keyd wins 10 rounds to Acend's 6, but Acend still wins the map. Brazilians are now even more angry.
So that's everything that happened with Brazil in this tournament so far.

EU - Thank you for the all the insane matches. Liquid vs V1, Sen vs Fnatic, 100T vs Gambit, CR vs Gambit, C9 vs Fnatic, and now Sen vs Liquid. Never have I been more entertained.

Omen will likely get played if Acend go to split

Sideshow from platchat. Sen were up 8-3 or something on breeze defense and he said the map was over. And then they lost. He also cursed Vikings, and almost Fnatic against Cloud9. In conclusion, when egg said team has won, team lost.

What is your reasoning for SEN 9th? I thought they looked really good today, and would've won split if dapr had won that round with the spike in mid.

We’ve seen 4 teams play and you’ve already concluded that they’re the worst

Liquid won their LCQ a lot more dominantly. They were already a top team (just barely missing out on Berlin), and the addition of Nivera was just a direct upgrade. They also won Red Bull Homeground, which had all the best EMEA teams in it.
C9 on the other hand, didn’t have a consistent form. At the beginning of LCQ they were playing pretty poorly, throwing 4v2s, and losing to Rise. They only turned up towards the end of the event. It’s more of a question mark if C9 will keep their form in Champs, especially with 3/5 (I think) of the players having no LAN experience.

Of course anything can happen. Liquid may choke again and C9 could dominate, and I do think that a lot of people are underrating them, but Liquid are more favored to do well given recent performances.

It was something along the lines of "we scrimmed c9 and envy. envy doesn't look that good, I don't think they'll beat good teams like sentinels or gambit"

They will win.
In their first series, they won 2 rounds.
In their second series, they won 20 rounds.
Therefore, in their third series they will win 200 rounds.
