Actually most players would just say that they hope they win. Seems like a normal response. Plenty of teams with insane confidence/borderline ego get clowned on the internet, especially after they lose
So believing in themselves is not a normal response? If you are a competitor at the highest level of any game or sport, you should go into any event/game and think that you are the best player/team in the world, or you already lost. If you don't win, so be it, you deal with the internet clowning you and the loss. But acting like having belief in yourself and your team is crazy is the weirdest reason to not like someone lol
