Its lowkey impossible to rank everyone in order, so categories are better:

Trophy lifting threats:

KC, won EMEA pretty easily, insane coaching staff, fragging IGL, all players in form
100T, best from Americas, absolutely insane form, synergy off the charts, masters of the current meta
NS, reverse sweep is worrying but GE feels like a 50/50 team sometimes, other than that NS look in Santiago form

50/50's (teams that will either contend or bomb out, you never know):

Global Esports, at London they turned up and shit their pants despite good regional results, same situation now; if they keep up their GF form the trophy could be theirs
PRX, obviously PRX are trophy contenders when in form, but they lost to VARREL twice in a row, so who knows what PRX we'll get
VIT, the European "superteam", if everything starts clicking together, this team could 100% be trophy lifters, but they're inconsistent as fuck
NRG, Mada injury is very worrying, and they bombed out at London, but we all know what NRG can do when everything is clicking
LOUD, almost beat 100T, but they had god-level momentum and home crowd behind them, and also lack any experience. But if they can keep the form they had in Americas GF, they could win it all

Threats, but no Trophy chances in my eyes:

G2, I mean this is one of G2's lower points in the last 2 years, enough said
TL, 1-2
T1, Global cleaned them up pretty easily, their ceiling hasn't been proven, Munchkin is a tilter
FUT, aim demons but have never shown a trophy-lifting ceiling before

I'll admit I've never watched China, KangKang has aura though

Whats funny about KC? Easily won EMEA, Lewn and N4rrate look mechanically insane, they have a high fragging IGL, they have good stage experience in Suygetsu and N4rrate, and they are flowing together as a team

The problem with the masters run is despite playing 5 games, 3 of them were regional matchups. The only team they played that wasn’t from EMEA was DRG other than PRX

VIT has insane name value, and they've had a very long break to fix things. They can absolutely live up to superteam expectations, thats not some fantasy like it is with MIBR. But they are very inconsistent and have a tendency to fall apart in team-fighting, so I think the 50/50 is fair

Probably why I said "could live up to expectations", not that they've already reached those expectations. They've had decent success in EMEA, insane name value and stage experience, and no glaring identity/role issues. They have all the pieces, they just need to put them together, hence the 50/50. Could bomb out, could lock in. I mean its Chron and Derke with solid players around them, a good IGL, and no role issues. Shit can get crazy

The time to do that would’ve been the honeymoon period with Sayonara and even still they barely made EMEA playoffs during that time

Im always opened minded to high potential teams at international events. 3/3 of the last Champs winners came out of nowhere, and underdogs with potential win tourneys all the time

No actually doesn't if the region consistently gets to second place and then loses like EMEA has. Like after we watched TH choke 2 GF away and then watch FNC do the same exact thing the next year it showed EMEA isn't actually a threat to lift trophies.

Do you know what the word threat means? If you reach a grand finals, it means you were a threat to lift the trophy.

TH vs EDG went to map 5, meaning TH threatened to lift the trophy. Thats what the word "threat" means

Except EMEA ain't a threat to lift the trophy, they were a threat until they reached the grand finals and then they just become a free win. Also just because TH took it to map 5 didn't mean they were a threat, it just means they were only good at two maps. Anf for KC to be a threat they'd have get 2nd place in the first place which they aren't.

There's nothing unreasonable to not believe that a team from a region that hasn't won anything in over 3 years won't be a threat even if they make it to GF as they've shown even if they can take it to map 5 they won't win.
