When SRG went into VCL they were just getting devoured. Think it has to do with lack of scrims with top teams they get and so they face less elite competition so they do worse

Same reason why certain regions don't develop much

Nah regions not developing is mostly due to a lack of good scouting/good coaching more than lack of scrims. Take the Philippines for example, TS was a terrible example of Filipino talent but PRX picked up patman and freed invy from them and they are now some of the best players in the world who would've never been known if another team didn't pick them up.

I mean there's that as well but if you look at a region like india, teams are not good cause the best challengers team here is not even half as good as the worst amer T1 teams and the issue is definitely not scouting, while in the Phillipines the issue is what you mentioned it to be. I believe with GC there's already a lack of talent pool cause val is dominated by guys so obviously less girl players means less gc players and less gc players means less gc cracked players and now even if you take the most cracked gc players and starve them of top competition for the longest time and make them play against lower competition then there will be things that will go unpunished which they will pick up and will cost them against better opponents.

so if they scrim against top teams they would be on the same level ?

Probably.

GC usually only gets scrims against tier 2 teams since tier 1 teams usually only scrim against tier 1/2. GC is tier 3 so tier 1 teams don't see them as competition.

They wouldn’t immediately but competing against them would allow them to experience improvement due to adapting to them. If you dropped a silver into a bunch of diamond lobbies, he would initially get destroyed. But make him play more and more, he will adapt to his surroundings and eventually play like a higher rank

mhm okay and what about the skill ceiling is it the same or does one fall shorter ?

I mean that's not really true, the silver isn't gonna play like a higher rank just because you play against higher ranked teams all the time it also comes down to talent and raw aim. All tier 1 teams scrim each other but some of the lower end teams never even improve at all.

Yeah it really does come down to how much they notice their mistakes playing against better opposition and attempt to rectify them to become better. Against better opposition your flaws are more visible. The same thing applies here. The scrim against top teams experience is worth nothing if they don’t learn anything

should not be as big as it is but when you are the best team like SRG and you play bots in officials you don't really improve much

srg losing mel the best igl in gc is a big blow for there chances in VCL they need at least a year or 2 to build up a new igl

but good news is that roster will have a higher fragging ceiling if they pick up a young cracked kid and igl them and this frees srg up in general to always be on the look out for upgrades

there is a gap but its slowly being bridged with more and more T2 level gc talents coming up ngl if u made a GC superteam with a mix of BR and NA talents +1 misc u could have a solid T2 team

but all in all i think the talent pool is still too small

its pretty fucking massive still, the best GC teams are like mid tier 2 at best, and only a small handful of players I can see getting to tier 1 and even then it would be on the lower level tier 1 teams. We honestly probably aren't going to see the first woman in tier 1 valorant for another couple of years we have to wait for the talent pool to really show up and develop

GC will always be shit because their opposition is shit and the teams they scrim against are shit

GC teams barely play against tier 1 teams in scrims and even if they do they would get 24-5’d every time (its like an infinite cycle of not getting to scrim good teams = being bad which means good teams wont scrim you)
