Is the phantom on defense, vandal on attack philosophy actually real? Like maybe cs is doing things right over there maybe

No, phantom is better in every conceivable situation
what about the situation where you hit someone in the head at range
hit the body first, you dont aim for the head at range
lol if you're aiming for the body and your opponent has a vandal you're cooked
If you can't control your recoil then that's on you, you just headshot someone and they got aim punched, you have a window to kill them before their crosshair comes back down
so you have never hit an enemy for 140 ever right. It just wouldn't be a conceivable situation
You're the reason no one can have a serious discussion in this forum
you said "phantom is better in every conceivable situation"
this is obviously not true. Vandal is better in long range fights because it can 1 tap headshots
you can cope all you want, but the phantom is not better in every single situation. There's a reason that you see both used at the pro level
That 140 dink wouldn't have necessarily hit the enemy at range with a vandal bc of first shot inaccuracy
1 shot headshot >>> 0.05 degree accuracy improvement. It’s ridiculous to pretend otherwise
Vandal obviously has scenarios where it’s better, otherwise you would never see it in pro play.
There are plenty of things that are objectively worse that people do in pro play all the time. When the difference is marginal (which is the case for vandal vs. phantom) feeling comfortable probably has a bigger effect than being optimal.
You drastically overrate the value of 1 shot headshot when in this game there are a million and one things that do tiny amounts of chip damage so your opponents are often not at full, and when they are they get aim punched so you have time to line up a very easy bodyshot.
There are situations where your opponent is at full. And in those situations, hitting the headshot with a vandal is better.
You're overestimating aim punch, it's very common for both opponents to dink one another.
Vandal is not objectively worse in every situation, it is better for long range angles because it one shots opponents.
Phantom is better until you hit a 140 and get punished
hitting 140 is genuinely a skill issue, it happens like 3 times only in a pro player match its just how you aim that defines whether you 140 or 180 the enemy
It happens 3 times in pro play because they have 0 ping where every bullet on the enemy actually hits
Depends on how my aim is that game, but also what agent. If I play Sova, Fade, Cypher I pretty much play phantom spamming through smokes. If i just want to take fights then I Vandal
not really no, its more abt what ur doing
if ur commonly on long angles (holding a lot of mids, big maps, etc) then vandal is prob better but for normal maps (ascent, sunset, haven to an extent, etc) phantom will always be better
plus if u talk abt some "140s are buns" just hit a 2nd bullet bro
The mere fact u can spam with the phantom just makes it better every time (smokes+ spam is broken). vandal too satisfying tho
vandal because phantom one taps dont make me feel as happy
phantom is better 99% of the time, the only situation where you'd want a vandal over a phantom is a long range 1v1 gunfight in which nobody uses utility which will literally never happen in an actual game and especially not in pro play.
idk man everytime i use phantom i will mald "just if i use vandal i will get the kill" , everytime i use vandal i will mald " just if i use phantom , i will get more than 1"
CS would have done the opposite if they wanted to be balanced. AK 1 tap + peeking advantage is cracked, whereas hold with a dink+bodyshot weapon is disadvantaged. It's just a matter of lore
i like both
theres a reason donk always pick up the ak bro
