i hate to say it, but this guy has some good points. the main issue is champs points standings: with FS at 8 (9 if they won), and plenty of teams at 5-8, I don’t see FS making champs unless they get top 4. (this would require either VL, ZETA, TS, or a tier 2 team to get top 4 but not top 2, among other requirements.) so, it’s best to play for a top 4 slot.
however there are some counterarguments. a big one is that top 4 is not always enough. with the extra point, FS could outrun T1 (9+4 > 12+1+0) and maybe even NS (9+5 > 14+0+0) if things go perfectly. further, it’s better to face your opponents as the underdog; if you face T1 and knock them down, it makes it more likely you’ll beat T1 overall as opposed to meeting in the final rounds, where T1 already clinched top 4. plus as others mentioned, the standings aren’t locked (DFM and T1 switch places if VL>PRX, for instance).
in the end though, they need a huge comeback run, and i think winning for the confidence boost is more important than the specifics of where they are in the bracket.
