MIBR is currently facing a very serious problem...
Aspas can't perform like before anymore, today's meta duelist is a much faster game, and different agents, one-trick Jett is weighing heavily on them.
Tex, very inconsistent.
Verno, seems discouraged by his decision to stay with MIBR.
Zekken, is still trying, poor free Zekken.
Mazino, very inconsistent.
Until yesterday's game, I thought MIBR's problem was limited to this, but yesterday after Ascente I saw a huge tactical gap, and Frod's lack of tact. I always respected him a lot and thought he was a very good coach, but after what I saw yesterday, I think it's time to change his head coach.
The guy simply copied my PRX composition on Ascent, without any tact, and it seems like he doesn't know anything about the players he has on the line. PRX's style is very aggressive, even if they pick 5 sentinels, there's no way to compare it to any other team in the leagues.
This Sage pick makes no sense at all, even on Split, which is a map where she appears frequently. She's useful for throwing ice from mid-B to the main to delay rushes, and not for throwing ice practically glued to the mouth like Verno was doing. I think to delay Phoenix and Neon rushes, he should at least throw it behind the generator... I lost count of how many times Verno was crushed throwing ice and seeing the ice disrespected near him and getting killed. I can remember at least 2 rounds at the tree, and at least 2 rounds at the mouth of A where he even got hit by Neon's ultimate and rush.
Valorant today has so many good and useful champions. Instead of a wall and an ice wall to throw, they had so many options to stop Lev's advances. I simply don't understand how they accepted this composition.
If we're going to keep the quote about Jett taking a diff from Neon, it would have been better for Zekken to come with Phoenix and try to make at least some play with Bang instead of ice, and a Molotov in this match would have been much more effective than an ice wall that was simply disrespected several times. Useless champion, tactical gap, players below par.
I've already stopped believing in MIBR, and from what I'm seeing, the only ones who call this lineup a super team are the Valorant casters, because nobody considers this team even remotely capable of anything anymore. At least now I think there's one less pressure.
MIBR's fracture, in my view, was largely due to Lev's failure to adapt. They did the same thing every round: advance in 3, Tex gathers info on where the weak points are, and then executes on that bomb site. Any other team, especially now that they have VOD, won't repeat the same mistake. That's why the rounds Lev did still manage were practically standing still on the bomb site, holding their aim.
Anyway, I give up as a fan, a fan of Aspas, and a fan of MIBR. I've thrown in the towel. And now, the least I expect is someone in Frod's place who puts Aspas to play with other duelists that are in the meta and comps that make sense for the playstyle and players that MIBR has.
