just because its not flashy doesn't mean it was mid
if someone drops 30 and they're not flashy they dont suddenly become mid
I'd even say that in most cases the smarter you are as a player the least flashy you'll be

You know who else looked amazing on old jett? Tenz, d3ffo and cNed, at some point cNed was the best player in the world when he played old jett
that doesnt mean they werent the best players of their time. Yay was able to capitilize off jett and chamber in a way that any other players were able to do. That makes him a good player not a bad one
he never looked flashy he just clocked in and did his job well for a whole year. never going negative in a match for a whole year gotta mean something
Yeah but like - chamber was genuinely busted. I hit my highest peak just abusing tf outta him and now im barely able to hit 400ish rr sweating my ass off. I just dont think yay was ever known as a big iq player though. Like majority of his kills are straight up with an op only

I understand- im just stating what im seeing in these matches no longer impresses me. When I rewatched these games I saw Victor and marved making a bigger impact - you have leo less sayf aspas etc all looking way better imo

How did he look mid? I’ve never seen anyone with remotely equal crosshair placement to prime yay.
Less literally invented a new form of crosshair placement you just have zero ball knowledge
instead of placing his crosshair at head level where he thinks someone will peek from he puts his crosshair in the center of all possible angles he could get peeked from and adjusts accordingly

He is 4 years in the future of the game judging plays and skill of a player 4 years ago at the start of the game the game evolves so much over the span of a year nevermind 4 lmao.
Its my 5th player ive deep dived on - im just saying in his era I dont even think he was as good as everyone remembers. I really think a big part of it was just how broken chamber is and how great his team was

Yeah he didn't look flashy but he was so absurdly consistent it was ridiculous his crosshair placement was so good he may as well have had op every round

he was a good aimer in the age of the game where it was all you needed. chamber was so busted and his other best agent was 2021 jett. he always struggled to find any impact on other agents
Yay is a better player now then he was in 2022 - I just dont think he was that great. Love the dude but I really do think there are 10 other players that just were better.
He’s better but not by a lot compared to then. Especially not worth the cost, I feel like Yay would cost much more money than any t2 prospect
Great fundamentals and crosshair placement + an incredible igl who put him almost always in duels with an advantage + the most broken agent in valo history
Your also comparing years of game play apart from each other do that in any sport with any person and they look mid.
Last yay is not the flashy player he cuts angles slowly but perfectly he takes his time and that's why he was the best.
Most players you name in VCT today was around then and they had the option to chamber as well the difference is yay dog walked all of them and it wasn't close most pros nowadays are inconsistent as fuck and it was insanely rare for yay to ever have a bad series.
Im comparing it to that era - hes the 5th player ive done a deep dive on. His own team i think Victor and Marved look way better
You can think that it's fine but you're just saying words that have no value his dominance and skill is backed up by stats from over a year.
You can think Marved and Victor are better but that is simply incorrect yay was by far the most consistent dominant player of 2022.
You're looking match to match everyone else is looking year around people had to change the way they played and cleared angles to counter yay had to use more utility or even avoid him because he was so dominant.
