I hate it so much, it's just feels like a lot of games don't matter because of Head-to-Head. To list some examples:
FNC vs BBL doesn't matter at all for FNC since they are already guaranteed 1st seed (because Head-to-Head vs EF)
MIBR despite losing C9 0-2, can still walk away as 1st seed just by beating Envy and LEV so it's like that lose didn't even matter
Same thing with PRX losing to Gen.G, all they have to do is beat KRX and them losing to teams they shouldn't be losing to isn't really punished.
FUT lost to TH but again it doesn't matter since they have Head-to-Head vs the only other team that can go 4-1 in their group (This isn't me complaining because I am a TL fan)
Like I understand rewarding teams for being able to win Head-to-Head match-ups but I feel like it would be a lot better if overall map diff was the first tie-breaker instead of Head-to-Head that way how you perform in your other matchess actually matter. So you can't just drop random maps/series and get away without being punished.
Head-to-Head also isn't even good at making sure the best teams get out of groups, like suppose we live in this magical universe where 100T improve and beat one of FURIA/KRU whilst SEN lose to NRG/FURIA. Do we really think the SEN that beat 100T in week 2 is better and more deserving of playoffs than the 100T who improved and was able to upset KRU/FURIA? I understand the prespective of if PRX beat KRX they probably are just the best team in their group so deserve to be 1st seed but I think dropping maps and losing to Gen.G should be punished for PRX. And if the tie-breaker was map diff then they would be punished but instead it's Head-to-Head so the Gen.G upset was affectively pointless.
If the tie-breaker was overall map diff then this week:
FUT and TL could've still been fighting for 1st seed
FNC and EF could still be fighting for 1st seed
Gen.G could still be fighting GE for 4th seed
PRX would have 2-0 KRX for 1st seed
etc.
