Is it a bad thing that teams only play one BO3 a week. I am comparing it to CS which makes valorant look pathetic from a scheduling standpoint. They are capable of playing more.

Is it bad? Or am I wrong?

The way the game's esport is setup does bug me a bit. Like 20 matches per year, and every 10 matches it's a new meta that changes everything

Yeah it is frustrating compared to CS, its why I will always enjoy watching CS more even if I like valorant as a game better.

In the 2010s, there was a push to make the esports ecosystem more viable. It started with OW. Basically they want to give players time off. Equating it to traditional sports like basketball or baseball, where the players do not play year round. Franchise leagues help with this concept.

However, it turns out the best players are the ones who play 24/7 and end up having the longest careers due to actually playing the game. So many players end up indulging in "esports pro lifestyle" of women and partying, they end up crashing out of the scene.

"giving players time off" only works if they're not doing 50 scrims a day

I honestly think more games would help burnout

Yeah, time off does not make sense considering the low amount of matches they play a year like valorant. Its not comparable to football which is only 16 games. But even then, that is all some of these teams play which is ridiculous.
