since all these threads about potter are coming do you guys genuinely think another coach could make this roster look good, its like the same situation with sen no coach can make that roster look good the players are too good these days mid rosters wont cut it

I think there is definitely better tier two talent out there. How long are they going to keep supa and also bringing c0m back is just trolling bc she likes him. I am sure a better roster could have been constructed by someone who knows the tier 2 scene better and also probably has better ideas. In 2023 she was glazed because of having different ideas to the meta which worked well. She never cooks anymore, literally said before breeze that they had something up their sleeve and then just ran a standard comp and looked like shit.

there's for sure better talent but its always a coinflip like bao was a lot better in tier2, and trials they could have trialled better players who just performed poorly in trials. And EG itself has a bad reputation its very likely players declined eg insta

Bao just had a bad game today; he was good in kickoff. But it's on the coach and GM to scout tier two better and take that stuff into context and know that trials aren't everything. Also, I don't think any tier 2 player is declining the opportunity to join franchising, even if it is with EG.

yeah but its very likely those t2 players were offered trials by other teams and we all know they taking the other trials and then eg just locks the roster they have bc they looked good in scrims

Tbh it's hard to know with EG. Potter definitely has some sort of say, but lots of rosters are formed by GMs. And given EGs history of lowballing, i wouldn't be surprised if the org/GM have more control than most.

Almost all rosters are chosen by coaches, the GM has said in the amount to pay or in really extreme chances, but there is a 0% chance that they would force a coach to have a player that they don't want on their team. If anything, they would agree together on an alternative if one didn't want someone.

I think they fully need to rebuild around dgzin and okeanos, bring in a new coach and aim for playing well during stage 2.

the problem does stem from the fact that it’s Potter who chooses these teams

what can she choose tho, do you think she wanted these players? these are the only players eg can get

yeah a lot of the problem is the fact that EG as an org just won’t pay, big reason why that original EG Champs winning roster split is because they literally won a trophy and were told “yo can you take a pay cut tho?”

EG could have definitely gotten other players. T2 talents are not expensive and there were a lot of them during the offseason

but do you know if those other talents were trialled and how they performed and as always t2 talent will always be a coinflip, I just don't think there's a world where eg could get a roster that significantly better than the current

trials are overrated and don't mean shit in terms of individual performances. I know that these players are better than c0m and Supamen at least, there's no need for trials to know that. And no T2 talent isn't "always a coinflip" idk where u got that idea but it's just wrong

they could have performed well in trials and still have a reason for not getting signed? and ofc its a coinflip a lot of tier2 talents dont live up to their hype not just T2 even T1 players can fall off/not perform to their standard for whatever that reason may be

#20

no most top T2 players do perform in T1, especially from a league like NA.
And if they did well in trials then what would the reason be?

#22

comm issues/role issues/mentality/eg thinks x player is better for them than whoever did well in trials

yea but what of those other players in question are doing good somewhere else? Like Seven and Chloric perchance, maybe u just have to admit that EG have shit roster construction

and they will continue to have a shit construction its very rare to put together a roster like the 2023 and win, and now ur point is a "what if" you cant just sign players because of "what ifs". my point was never that they had a good roster construction its that can any other coach do more with this roster, and i just don't see a world where eg get a roster that is significantly better

this is what everyone keeps saying "better t2 talent" but those better talents will just decline EG

not if they don't get better offers, which is the case for a lot of them

Every coach believes the only inputs they can contribute are agent compositions and mirroring whoever the best team is and how they do strats.

What you need is someone who can teach execution and game awareness. And since I am aware of Icebox's location, I should be picked up.
