The announcement comes six days after the team shared that yong was trialing for the main team and would be replaced in DRX Academy's matches by coach rolex .

Born in February of 2008, yong recently turned 18, meaning he will be eligible to compete in Pacific Stage 1. Since making his professional debut at the start of last year with DRX Academy, yong has played a number of roles. In Stage 1 , he juggled the Controller and Initiator roles as the team navigated the Tejo-centric play that dominated the meta at the time. In Stage 2, his role became more defined as the team's main Controller while also flexing onto Gekko in the team's Icebox comp. In Stage 3, a change of roles saw yong become the squad's go-to Duelist.

yong's addition expands DRX's active roster to six members.
