Japanese Valorant Biggest Problem

Its the coaches, like the player talent is there but these coaches actually don't know how to make good strats, teach discipline or even take proper timeouts or what to say in those timeouts. Like Japanese teams actually need to go find coaches from outside of Japan if they want to make internationals.

Language barrier fucks them over

I mean there are coaches who have made it work through language barriers though so I don't think its really an excuse

I'd say it is because unlike those teams (TLN and Thai for example) the english literacy rate in Japan is extremely low.

rare but actually correct take from VLR. Even in the T1 game yesterday the coach didn't even take a single time out even when they were getting rolled map 1. Took one super late in map 2 as well. The players are indeed super undisciplined and just make bad decisions a lot (when they're down especially).

That is like literally part of the coaches job, like if a coach isn't fixing mistakes in scrims or after games or giving the team strats to succeed then they are a bad coach

What else are they paid for?

What do you think coaches do Genuinely

i think as the esport progresses they'll become better bc players will eventually go the ANGE1 route and become coaches themselves. japan had a really small CS scene so obviously because this is a relatively new esport they'll have a disadvantage

It's not about Cs esports scene being small. Rather the PC esports scene as a whole is very new and isn't developed there as Japan gaming scene has always been dominated by console gaming.

I think Vorz could be an alright coach, Chobra had pretty good praises for him during his Riddle stint, which im not too aware of.
I think its still early days since hes working with SseeS for the first time and still just finding what works.
More time they will look better im sure.

I don't know much about vorz but the way he's taking timeouts is very concerning, like he is taking them way too late for them to be helpful or just isn't using them even when he has multiple left.

Yeah this was always a problem, even with Northernlights as HC, idek if its just a JP coach thing or DFM is just cursed with coaches that dont want to press the timeout button.
