They are blaming this to one person and his name is Cauanzin. Biggest fraud ever. Was meant to replace Sacy. Couldn't replace Governor.
Some people said this on twitter and I agree:
"aspas was so unbalanced that he would fix his own team's mistakes. These fundamental mistakes were always there but aspas individually helped to hide them"

Thats why Cauanzin "prime" was with Aspas on the team
I don't think being a safe duelist is bad at all if it works. If you're gonna win games and trophies with this playstyle, why not do it?
It works because he's insane at what he does. Aspas is the Goat.
I think even a Clove one trick like Solada would fit in VCT if he fits into the right system.
The problem is that you always need to adapt your players into their best roles. You need to trust in your teammates. You need to get everyone into their best version as a team.
They trust in Cauanzin, but Cauanzin doesn't trust in them. Thats not being a good teammate.
