We play as the alpha earth, but both are"real", just imagine there was a different earth where there was another king boob
Actually, we play as both in the gme, but the original/our home earth is alpha earth

Alpha earth has a lot of radianite
So omega plunder radianite from alpha earth to save their earth because there was a big disaster that made omega earth unlivable, but the agents saved people but most of the earth is now destroyed now, they need life support systems, to stay alive because of lack of oxygen in atmosphere and other stuff, which means life systems needs radianite becuz there is no oter wae to surviv
there are two worlds in parallel universses
one world needs radianite so they attack the other
every val round is attacker world (TR) vs defender world (CT)
if you look close i think every val bombsite has some green boxes in it
I'll try to make it short :
Earth existed normal before, then first light came and the world got divided in two : Alpha (abundant in radianite, stable and in green boxes) Omega (Scarce in radianite, highly explosive, portrayed as orange).
The Valorant LEGION is the valorant of OMEGA and the valorant PROTOCOL is the valorant of ALPHA, Legion STEALS from Alpha earth and are acclamed as heroes (check the statues in pearl) because they are technically saving their earths.
Attempts were made for alpha to give some radianite to Omega by opening a portal (Basically what is fracture) but the chambers (Alpha AND Omega) destroyed the facility (the radiant collider supposed to make the portal) by making their bullets collide !
So now Omega has to resort to stealing while Alpha has to defend most of the time (Exception are Pearl, Lotus & Corrode, because they are all set in Omega, meaning than when you defend you are from Omega)
PROBLEM IS They die a lot everytime, and sage has to heal them, but sage can't eat eternally everyone, so now she is used in a tube so she can revive everyone even if it is consuming her ! We litteraly see a picture of all the agents laying aside chambers under some blankets, THESE MFS BE DEAD !!
So Viper take her matter in her own hand, remove the commander role of (Omega) Brimstone , assemble a squad and raid in surprise Alpha to kill the Alpha agents (who still have a working sage) and yeah that's the cinematic, but since viper just killed (Alpha) brimstone and sage is still alive, he will get revived.
I think it approaches the broader lore, but I'd recommend giving Strawberry57's thread a read on twitter, it's pretty full and nice to read (can be long tho !! Make sure you have time to sit down so you can understand)
a while ago i think it was implied both chambers worked together in some capacity so they could both profit on the conflict thats why they fucked up the portal but idk if its still canon
It is still to this day (It's litteraly in his introduction cinematic, like both chambers help each other). It's more of a deal thing tho, they are not particularly friends
- earth underwent mitosis, split into alpha and omega earth
- both experienced "first light" which introduced radianite and radiants to both earths
- alpha earth flourished after first light, whereas omega earth is on the brink of total climate collapse
- omega earth's version of the valorant protocol (valorant legion) invades alpha earth to steal their radianite to power their world
there's a lot more that goes much deeper than this so if u want that explaining lmk and i'll gladly do it
