but I said this to my ex and I meant it, I got tired of hating her as a way to stop loving her and decided she deserves happiness even if it's not with me
she wasn't toxic or anything, I just had a lot of bad feelings at the time and she didn't know how to deal with it so we grew distant
so in this case yes, it was real
