    • limit the amount so you can’t abuse it
    • people who are avoided more should be investigated
  • Vote to queue a timeout in ranked

4 agents banned a game could literally be every dome smoker banned in a game, why tf would you want that, im less against agent bans in ranked i just think bans in pro play would make me stop watching tbh,

does it not get boring watching the same agents/comps get played? if anything it makes pro play more entertaining and adds more depth to game plans and adjusting strats accordingly (also every controller in the game as a dome smoke)

no, level of play literally goes through the floor because suddenly everyone is playing like talon with 5 comps on each map, you cant just slot jett or neon in for raze and expect your comp to work the same, the agents do different things, teams build comps to have answers to all the situations that come up, if you remove sova and add fade into your corrode comp, suddenly your entire attack side default needs to change because you can no longer safely reclear mid easily with sova drone, and thats in literally the most 1-1 slot in situation in the game, like sova fade are literally the 2 most similar agents in the pro meta imo, and even then the strengths of the agents are far enough apart that a teams entire plan changes off those agents getting swapped, and having only a week to practise 3 different comps to account for bans instead of 3 weeks to prep the 1 comp you know you will play just means the level of play goes down.

i think you're massively overstating how fragile comps are. teams already run multiple variations on every map and constantly swap agents due to patches, meta shifts, or opponent prep and their level of play doesn’t fall apart every time they switch from sova to fade or raze to jett. prep isn’t “3 weeks to memorize 1 comp.” it’s systems, protocols, and principles that work across multiple comps. bans don’t mean “3 brand-new comps in one week”, teams would build flex packages just like LoL or R6. those games don’t collapse because a pick changes; they reward depth. agent bans wouldn’t tank the level of play, they’d punish one-dimensional teams and reward teams with real fundamentals and adaptability.

ah yes, patches have famously never lowered the level of play in valorant, i just flat out disagree, we have already seen that valorant can thrive in open metas where we basically never get mirror matchups from champs, idk why we would chase towards banning away and lowering the ceiling instead of just wanting more open meta's, its trying to solve a problem that doesnt really exist at the pro level these days, like FNC lotus comp is not 90% of lotus comps anymore and neither is old ascent meta comp, we dont watch 30 mirror matches an event anymore, imagine how dogshit it would be to see something like the DRX yoru waylay come out one day and next match the team just bans waylay, or, oh aspas and kangkang cant play yoru? no problem, no need to adapt and aspas finds a new way to thrive with the waylay, or we see a fall off from EDG because they are struggling with a meta, nope just ban the yoru go back to playing perma jett or neon every game, it would genuinely make the game so fucking boring, every new or interesting idea gets banned out and we would actually just get 3 meta comps on each map and every team in the league plays them.

"patches have never lowered the level of play” isn’t the point LOL patches don’t permanently crater competitive quality, they temporarily shift it, and teams adapt. there have been MASSIVE overhauls (Chamber meta, Astra meta, Tejo meta, countless reworks) and pros didn’t suddenly look lost. the idea that bans would “kill creativity” is backwards. bans force teams to develop multiple strong looks instead of turtling behind one comp forever. imo that actually raises the skill ceiling, not lowers it. the DRX yoru example proves the opposite of your point. if one team has a totally unique game changing pick, the counter shouldn’t be “hope your duelists magically learn Yoru in 3 days.” strategic counterplay is part of competition. that’s why games with bans consistently produce more creativity, not because you can’t hide behind one trick. , bans don’t mean “every cool strat gets removed instantly.” teams don’t blindly ban random shit, there r tradeoffs. if you ban yoru, you’re giving up a different comfort ban. no game with bans end up with “everyone runs the same 3 comps”. for example LoL, Dota, R6, OW all have deeper metas than Valorant because bans force flexibility. bans would create more obstacles, which means more innovation, not less.

I feel like we are never going to get hoilday maps since the lower visibility would hurt "competitive" integrity or something but dm or range in queue is something we need desperately. Maybe then delighted would climb out of iron

this is genuinely one of the worst ideas, the whole point of hero shooters is that you can build completely custom team comps that can fit any playstyle, and its not until somewhat high rank that playing a senti/initi is 100% required. Some of the most interesting anti metas came from triple initi ascent, fnc's triple senti icebox, or triple senti lotus. Agent limitations killed ow, i dont want them to kill val.
