Truth about Japan

Something to do with their approach to Valorant.
They have potential like they really do. They've produced Meiy, Laz, Dep, I still vouch for SyouTa, Aace is really good as well imo.
Players who came up from their leagues HAVE won trophies (something, iZu)
But overall their tier 2 scene is just not good. I swear they just have a bad approach to the game.

They need to import coaches from other regions and their players need to not be complacent in tier 2 just because they have money and fame. They need drive.

RIP noppo, seeing as how deep his passion went for Tac FPS his passing will really hurt the region. They need people like him more than ever I think.

I've played in Immortal+ Tokyo lobbies and legit it might be the worst immortal experience i've had. They have a shitton of baiters and players who just don't play well. They can aim though for sure. But weak mental and they bait a lot. Just my experience though.

Scarz 2023 - 2nd
Riddle 2024 - 4th

Yeah Japan is fully capable of producing good teams, but Scarz had a foreign coach and 2 cracked Russians, arguably the Japanese players were not the strongest points of that team.
Riddle had probably the best tier 2 Japanese talents in 2024.

Never in my life will I ever call that scarz a japanese team. I refuse to accept that ""achievement"" till the the day I die

Without Japanese viewership and sponsor, they wouldn't even be pro and would likely be doing something else

those talents mentioned arent that good and few have really came up from japan t2 and done well in t1.

overall they lack not only structure but good coaching. every other subregion is ahead of them in either talent or strats. seems like japan are comfortable in the position they are in seeing how DFM have been playing since franchising started.

Also taking your experience of ranked in japan is kinda ahh but thats subjective.

i wouldn't even bring up my Japanese ranked experience if not for the fact that for basically most of Valorant Japan as a region has played in professional play the exact same way their ranked players do - slow, scared, and baity.

Things have changed recently but for the majority of Val i noticed the parallels between their tier 1 scene and their ranked scene.

Anyway something, Meteor, iZu, Meiy, Akame, Jemkin, Kr1stal have done well in Pacific so far, that's a decent amount. But yeah only one Japanese player from tier 2 and it happens to be probably the GOAT Japanese player.

Culture is relative. However that can be a drawback in extreme environments where decisions must be made within seconds. And some cultures may never be possible to change.
