Are you guys in college
u wanna go into STEM yea, if u can get a scholarship yea, if you want to go into a profession that requires a degree yea
Just don't spend 80K a year on a gender studies degree, and that's not to knock gender studies majors, just don't spend 80K a year on something with no lucrative job opportunity post-grad.
i agree but if i was some rich nepo baby with guaranteed generational wealth i would 100% go to college and nerd out over something that wont guarantee me a high paying job, maybe not gender studies specifically but those non-stem degrees (not saying non-stem people are guaranteed to be broke)
depends on where u live tbh, in the UK we dont really have to pay our loans back so its very worth it, but in some places like America, student loans can drive you to bankruptcy
if youre going into a field that is college-supported and its a viable option (ex money, accomodations, etc), yes absolutely its worth it (imo, im js a random internet guy tho). you get experience, knowledge, and you mature a bit more before entering the workforce in full. it also helps implement your idea of going into a career by giving you more in-depth experience of what you might be doing in said job, and how you feel about doing that. all in all, w college
If its STEM or business its an automatic yes. Most bachelor of arts majors like behavioral studies and non-STEM psychology are among the worst degrees to have when it comes to finding decent jobs. Art school is viable if you decide to do graphic design or something.
gonna have to disagree with the last point. I lived with a graphic designer last year and their industry is being buttfucked with no lube by generative AI atm
Yeah, I didn't say graphic design is an outstanding yes like STEM and business. I'm sure art related jobs will stabilize just fine if governments regulate the use of AI. I'm dating a graphic designer lmfao I hear about the struggles.
ehh if you go for an additional 2 years for a masters in a psych field there's some decent money to be made
obv not 250k type shi but it's there
depends on major
if this about g*r sties then it not worth it
I censored it because mods is western bias
If you want to be like a lawyer, doctor, engineer, teacher (most often), you absolutely do need uni. Trade school is always very viable. Its all based on what you want to do
Depends on the pathway
Medical yes
Stem yes
Something more blue collar? Probably not
for STEM and medical yes, business is also good, because most of them require degrees to enter the field
for anything else it's a hit or miss, you might end up hating both the college and the major you're in
