literally the most unexpected thing, KOI are a rich org aswell, must have really fucked up
that guy on twitch watchpartying M8 Games was getting legit 60K viewers per stream
i cant blame them
i dont think its beyaz, its some other random M8 Member who doesnt even play valorant but watches their games
there was no payment issues though. Looks like close to no content, shit performance, shitty management + lack of skin sales all being contributing factors
I think it’s kinda fucked up of riot to kick a partnered team in 2026. Their reasoning was “they weren’t selling enough or pulling out enough viewers” but they made a decision in 2023 and they should be made to stick with it. Also, koi may have been aware they may be on the chopping block for 2027, so they may have put a lot of money, time and resources into the last year where they could have turned things around
In the 3 years of the league they have had 3 separate mangement teams all who fucked over each other this is what happens when u show that kind of instability

So the management fucked up and didn't do much about sales and performance.

If you look at the response from KOI, they were the worst in terms of performance, skin sales, engagement etc etc. This is what they think got them the boot.

The reason Riot gave was because KOI were the worse performing team based on content, skin sales and their record in the league. But the ceo suspects its actually because Riot wanted to get Gentle Mates back into the VCT EMEA.
KOI management just found out they were getting kicked yesterday, despite already having a coach signed for VCT 2026 and talking to over 50+ players. Their Ceo seems pissed that they were given 0 prior notice and Riot said there was nothing Koi could do to change the decision.
Something has to have happened or KOI left on their own imo riot didn't kick them because of performance
