ive been picking it up to take notes in math/stat courses. What else do you guys use it for and is it worth it

its something i use to prepare/make a document but there's some syntax you need to learn about. writing math notes with all the symbols and all are 10x easier imo with latex.
latex is goated but a tip, its much easier to scan your handwritten work into latex thru chatgpt or smth rather than learn a bunch of syntax that wont help anywhere else
yeah i started using latex for my math hw and even documentation cause my handwriting looks like a doctor's prescription note. will prob try what you suggested if/when im in a hurry
used for computer science and maths notes for a while, is quite tedious to type manually i agree with #6
i also agree with #6, worst case scenario you manually fix certain formatting issues
I used to practice math on AOPS(math webboard), and it’s really useful if you’re studying pure math or statistics. But now that I’ve switched to programming, I don’t use it anymore
I do, but not for taking notes, way too slow compared to by hand. But I have used it for typing up hw (only for extra credit tho tbh lol) and creating demographic statistics tables for a research paper
