Buzz is overhated

Yes, he’s a dickhead to sylvan and needs to fix his attitude but let’s not pretend he is a bad player. He was big part of T1’s success in kickoff and Bangkok (until the grand finals) and is an overall way better player than Sylvan, however, he was toxic to sylvan and deserves criticism. He’s definitely not the only player on a team to criticize another player too harshly; that’s when it’s the coach’s role to step in and tell him to rein it in.

While buzz does deserve criticism hes getting overly hated, the real fraud is still Autumn for not giving sylvan AND buzz productive advice and making sure to improve his team’s cohesion and relationship with each other. That’s the whole point of a coach, not a glorified analyst who thinks running Reyna chamber on icebox four times in a row unsuccessfully is the extent of his duties. We’re also not about to pretend that sylvan is a perfect player either.

He was definitely targeting sylvan and criticizing him in the middle of the round isntead of comming efficiently, but sylvan did make misplays at times, not to mention that we don’t know everything and there was implication that izu/sylvan didn’t really speak up much during practice. Meteor also criticized sylvan(as did stax), but he just did it in a far more productive way. I’m not saying buzz shouldn’t get criticized but people are overreacting and pretending like sylvan is flawless and above criticism and that everything buzz did was bad

Korea, as a country, is known for its prevalence of bullying to the point of reaching adulthood; there's still bullying until suicide comes. You shouldn't defend bullying, no matter the context. If this still gets downvoted, you guys are just bandwagoning like a sheep with no moral values in your reasoning. I’m not saying buzz shouldn’t be criticized, but his criticism of sylvan isn’t entirely incorrect either. I guarantee you a lot of other teams and players have similar discussions that are simply not published, from regions outside Korea as well. Buzz definitely should have toned it down or tried to criticize sylvan in a more productive manner but buzz is getting way more hate than his teammates who did something similar.

A lot of this is just a hate bandwagon, people hating because it’s cool to hate on buzz. If t1 were still winning people would be calling it mamba mentality and praising buzz.

Buzz is definitely not below average on his role, especially not historically
He didn’t play well in the Bangkok final but he still had a lot of impact throughout the rest of the tournament to get them there, probably more than sylvan, and was arguably t1’s second best player during kickoff/bangkok (behind meteor/izu).

Regardless of his own performance he can definitely criticize his teammates if they make mistakes, but he does it in a vindictive, unproductive manner which is the problem.

BuZz has been the best duelist in Korea in '21, '22, '23, and top 2 last year. Also, "even in the finals that he won." Yes, he had a terrible map. But, if he had an average performance on split he would've been the highest rated T1 player in the gf 😭.

Calling out perceived mistakes in a non productive way is NOT the same as bullying. Bullying is targeted harassment with malicious intent. Buzz clearly wants to win and I don’t think he is blaming sylvan with some personal hatred behind it. He just thinks sylvan is the weakest link and wants him to play better so they can win. He just goes about it in a terrible way.

Yes, I’ve always believed that buzz is overhated. Meteor also criticized sylvan for whiffing and said some condescending shit to him, stax criticized him, izu never owned up, autumn constantly shit on him but people only criticized buzz. Sylvan also had a lot of horrific performances towards the end of his career that people ignore for the sake of pushing an agenda.

I don’t want to read into his performances too much given the extremely toxic environment but he had a couple of -15/-20 performances that definitely weren’t ideal. Granted, the whole of t1 weren’t playing well but I hate when people can’t criticize buzz without pretending that sylvan is a perfect player.
