I always wondered this, if in today's meta on ascent teams tend to play cypher deadlock or other double sentis, why has no one been playing killjoy + cypher? Seems like a good comp to me

because deadlock is insane for post plant on offense and KJ is a worse version of that
becuase deadlock is more of a "stall" senti while cypher/kj are both "info" sentis
it would be like running sova/fade instead of sova/kayo, you lose a lot just to double up on something that can be handled by one guy
While on defense side looks strong, in pro play they will use utils to destroy both setup while not stalling quite amount of time, you only get a little time to hold. It's also bad for retaking site.
On attack side, kj and cypher always been agent for anchoring on opposite side of where your teams are going because it doesny have utils to help setup to going site (except kj ult), while deadlock wall and gravnet can be very useful when combo with other initiator agent.
To add to this when teams default a main or b main on attack, they can put a deadlock sensor so if the ct’s try to push out they can punish them while they are stunned and if they don’t they hold the map con and can make a call of that
cypher Kj share strengths when you are doubling up on any agent comp you need the other agent to have a VERY different strength recon flash inti viper astra/omen etc etc for senti's if your doubling up the only real options who are different from others are deadlock, chamber, sage for different reasons chamber adds aggro presence to any team plus being the best awper in the game deadlock is valorant's strongest anchor and Net is a one of the best aggro CDs in val rn sage is weird but her niche is retake/delay
