Nah Leo was actually better than Alfa Alfa boosted tf out his champs stats on bilibili and zeta and got hard carried by Leo and derke in lock-in
Not to mention 2024 where Leo carried tf out of fnatic to even make Shanghai while Alfa was just ok
Alfajer is the reason fnatic didnt end up like vitality, leo was the best player until fnatic were down 11-3 then the real man went to work

Leo literally dragged fnc kicking and screaming up 2 maps against loud in lock-in grand finals. He was the reason they won upper finals vs EG. Carried them in the important map v DRX when they got 13-1ed first map in champs. Literally put them on his back for all of stage 1 playoffs last year, was a big reason why they won the grand finals too. Alfa is very inconsistent last year. Just because he played well at Toronto doesn’t magically rewrite his past performances.
Mentioning 11-3 is funny because how did fnatic get up 2 maps in the first place? A huge part of it was Leo.
I think leo was better when both of them played but ppl will just remember alfas performance at toronto and put him above leo

He was by far the most impactful player, had multiple big clutches and contributed heavily to pistol round wins. Idk if you remember watching the match live but until map 5 the grand finals mvp was undeniably either Leo for fnc or less for loud. He played stellar the whole tournament too, was very consistent comparative to Alfa.
The kicking and screaming part was stage 1 playoffs last year not lock-in, he had like 3 performances where he went +20-30
i could get wym, but with hiro they went flawless in stage 2
im not saying alfa was better than leo at lockin, but he was definitely the better player in the moment when it was needed the most
at tokyo alfa was just better
and i think the issue with just looking at stats and not realizing alfajer often takes much harder duels and is winning them about as often if something we don't realize, then the aspect that alfa is often lurking, or he is in 1vX situations, leo is usually never in these situations (not that hes bad at them, hes quite good)
then theres the fnatic domination thing, when you win a map 13-6 some players just arent going to have a chance to impact anything, its by chance
Alfa was bigger in the most important moment and your referring to literally one round in a map where derke was actually the one having the most impact. Don’t get me wrong, Alfa turning up was prolly the biggest reason why the won icebox but he was flat the entire first half and they wouldn’t have gone down 11-3 if he was shooting in the first place. I think Alfajer had the higher peak of the two, and I think Leo does get overinflated stats but he’s by far more consistent and the more reliable of the two. Outside of Emea league finals in 2023, he tends to also be the bigger game player of the two.
I hate this really dumb “Leo is a baiter” narrative. Alfajer (outside of like 2 matches) only farmed when fnc were dominating or winning, same with chron. Every single competitive match prime fnatic had Leo was the one who stepped up. I’m obviously not talking about what happened after he left.

His stats absolutely make him look better than he is. But Alfajer is also inconsistent outside of 2023, very feast or famine. Toronto is clouding people’s mind because he was hitting his shots but he was heavily criticized during stage 1 and last year due to inconsistency.

Bro had the best smoker (also the best lurker), the best initiator (at least in na), the best IGL, and the best flex (rb propaganda will not work) who was a suicidal level entry for him
so DRX are most consistent team cause it is not easy to get to international and get 5-6 every time
Leo was for sure better than alfa in 2023 , he played better almost all internationals except tokyo which he nearly did and was playing his role perfectly while helping midround
