shoulda said governments but yeah obviously russia invading ukraine is a big no no for most of the world and so most governments put sanctions on russia to try and discourage russia from continuing the war, of these sanctions a lot of them include visa ones.

When the war with Ukraine began, it broke about every peacetime convention there was. There were widespread consequences from capital and commercial points of view, which included people of Russian origin being banned from like everything. Mazepin, Karjakin, so many others. It's still hard for people of Russian origin to get visa's even today.
