Which teams will benefit or suffer from the new patch at Toronto?

Considerations:

  • Sunset is replacing Fracture
  • Tejo nerfs go live
  • EMEA teams will have 2 weeks less prep
  • Homefield advantage for Americas
  • First seeds skip groups and pick their opponents

+sunset -fracture will be huge for sen since they were one of the best teams on it and fracture was their permaban

Here is your answer for Tejo: https://www.vlr.gg/488073/tejo-nerfs-strongly-benefit-emea-and-prx-analysis/#12

In regards to Sunset heretics is gonna get massively buffed. They dont play fracture and love sunset.

Hey, great post man! It gives a lot of insight and it helped me see how little PRX and TH have to change with the new patch. If they don’t make changes on their other maps though, there’s a good chance they go into the tournament with Anti’s prepared against them.

G2, SEN, RRQ, and GENG have a lot to change but man it makes me excited to see Anderzz get to work on new comps with zero footage on them. His work will decide whether G2 shred through the tournament or absolutely fall apart.

even without anderzz g2 always shreds early on, they suffer usually at the final hurdles in playoffs however skipping groups puts them in a massive spot cuz they can have normal stuff now as well as random one and done comps depending on who they get paired up against

sunset has always been a good map for g2, and I don't think tejo nerfs will affect them that much because their teamplay is THAT good.
In terms of map pool, I think G2 was buffed the most - their sunset was better than sen's last year, and they were pretty bad at fracture (well, they technically weren't bad at anything - no terrible losses, great map pool - but typically banned fracture).
Now, tejo nerfs will obviously affect them, and honestly I don't think Trent can really play that many non-recon initiators - I've seen him play fade, tejo, and sova, and that's basically it (a VERY tiny bit of skye). I'd be curious to see what he whips out now that tejo is basically nerfed beneath ground, since sova and fade aren't really that great on many maps (I say this as a guy who knows fade and kay/o lineups).
I'm not saying he's bad mechnically, but i don't know what he's gonna play now. RAZE???
So I think g2 is going to get slightly cooked. Expect PRX to be buffed.
