What is limiting SEN?

I feel like they lack composure and awareness when they lose maps or rounds. When this years SEN are at their best is when they make quick and decisive calls and execute it calmly, they look horrible when they commit to bad call and rush. For example, SEN lost like 10 rounds this series up a man advantage on attack and they get too excited and stomp away to one site to group up and G2 make a hero stack play to win the round. Honestly, those 10 rounds were difference maker in this series.
Also, their defensive setups are too readable, they are not rotating or flooding as much as they should, they are not proactive enough.

When leaf and jonahp push out of flank get 3k or when jawg hits a ridiclious clip, or when tre t clutches every postplant or valyn gets 3k on site its "OMGGG what a teamplay and coordination and good macro by G2" and when SEN players do it its " OH they are hero play merchants". Every good team wins big rounds by hero plays in this game

A1pha1 the thing with sen is they mostly all need to pop off during the game to win against a good team thats playing well, if narrate doesnt shoot its hard for them if zekken doesnt they rarely win unless its a hero round, they need to be more consistent instead of relying so heavily on hero plays

g2 was outclassing sen heavy on the macro icl, the fact that sen only got 11 rounds total across all the second halves is astounding

Isnt this recency biased tame tho after 1 match? They were playing well as a team so far, for example their game against MIBR, they had a good coordination for most of the time and zellsis's monitor was off. They were just too eager to take fights and rush today for some reason.

Mental block when you have 4 tilters in a team apart from zekken he is the only one I have seen strong mental to win from the rest and yeah they need to stop the cocky behaviour man the fans are just fuel it more

I mean even zekken was playing tilted on Pearl, johnqt was making tilted rushed calls on Haven and Split, its a whole team problem. At least zekken doesnt express it that much as others but still it is so noticable.

Well i think their chemistry isn’t at G2’s level. G2 feel like a singular structure where all 5 of them play off each other cohesively. Sen on the other hand, have momentary flashes of it. This gap is prolly due to Guard core being together for so long. Can Sen reach that level, maybe/ maybe not. If they keep on going at this pace they surely can make deep runs.

Actual power of friendship moment the core has so much understanding between each other than Sen core

Agreed plus zellsis shifting to perma senti also creates issues for them where he can’t midround much. N4rrate needs to step up in this dept if these are their fixed roles.

The real answer is that all is N4RR4TE's fault.

When i saw N4RR4TE saying wrap it up after Zekken's ACE i knew it was joever for you guys.
It would only take 1 bad map for him to lose his mental and start crying.

Surely the rest of the team have their up and downs but damn, N4RR4TE fucking loses 1 map and bombs out mentally the whole series.

i cant imagine how his mental was on KC, considering the fact that his team was much worse on there

I feel like this series was more on johnqt than narrate, he was making too many readable and bad calls this series even tho his vlr stats look good. Its whole teams fault in reality tho, other players also had to make better calls on 2nd halves and be more composed.
Thats why this loss is so annoying, its not like loss vs G2 first time they played at Kickoff where they were getting diffed in almost every level, but this time when zekken is playing good and when bang is anchoring like a god they have to win these type of series.

this 1000% percent, im not upset abt G2 winning im just more annoyed bc how do we go from barely beating them, then taking them to all 5 maps in a best of five, then to actually beating them, just to revert back to how they played today. like it was more annoying that the calls were so obvious by john and the ppl above are right, when you have ppl who get tilted easily and try to be the hero for the team, things just go south. i dont think sen will get grouped but i dont think they'll make it within the top 5. they gotta lock in from now till the end of stage 2 if they wanna go to paris

I am not worried for Toronto group stage that much because they should be able to outaim and win games on group stage just like they did against every other team in Americas apart from G2
If they make playoffs next stage they will make Paris, they only need 2 or 3 champs points to secure their spot.

A lot of things. Strategy seems to be the big factor. The mid rounding looks dead. Once zekken falls its most likely wraps for SEN. Also doesn't help that valyn completely read them. N4RRATE and bang seemed to be tilting easy and maybe even zellsis. They need someone like sacy that can control these situations.

This is a big issue for em, Zellsis is the best secondary caller but him playing senti limits his ability to call plays. N4rrate is yapper but still isnt at Sacy or Zellsis’ level yet.

Bang and n4rrate really havent been that impactful fragging wise. They obviously would be downgrade strategy wise. A roster move should happen if they do bad a Toronto.

Idts. N4rrate was frying in the grp stages and Bang also stepped up big time in playoffs. Just a bad game against G2 in finals can’t discredit the good they did. At best can say the former wasn’t as impactful in playoffs.

Zekken is taking most of the first engagements which I think worked in a time where there was a lack of utility and repetitions through scrims and matches of the same comps. Imagine if you protected Zekken, not through utility but put him deeper into the stack. The closer you can get him to clutch situations, the more rounds you're going to win. He can't be a sacrifice.

If we are calling the duelist the player who has to take the most risk then give that role to Zellsis. I would rather have Zellsis take a 50/50 than someone who can 1v4 and statistically tower over the other players on the team. And look JohnQT I'm not calling you a baiter but I think we can both agree that Zekken in that last person alive role is going to convert more rounds.

If you disagree and we keep Zellsis on Sentinel, he has to learn in this meta people are hunting him in defaults. There has been a crazy rise in 3-player pushes on the extremities. This is where we find Zellsis. Imagine if you played more passive and more for information. Imagine 8 more chances by playing for info instead of the eliminations.

The more that I look at it...

I'm sliding JohnQT to sentinel, Bang to Initiator, Narrate to Duelist and you scrim Zekken on ipad smokes with Zellsis as fill duelist. You find something where Zekken feels that he has impact in the later half of the post-plant or round.

If you look at their all time stats, these roles produce the highest First Kill to First Death ratio.
