2024 we had Trace sending both VIT and LEV to the lower bracket
For 2025, what CN team is most likely to surprise everyone in the group stage?
Biank was part of these teams but Trace has not been looking good lately so I have my doubts.
I think XLG has the highest chance of doing that. If they keep this form for sure they're gonna send some first/second seed to the lower bracket.
Also BLG could repeat that as well
Aside from EDG the contenders look like BLG/NOVA/XLG, I think XLG is most likely to upset. BLG could do it sure but their style of val only works in China tbh, they flopped at Champs last year and against NRG/DRX in the offseason. I struggle to call them a great team.
NOVA has the firepower do it but who knows how they'll look against a non-Chinese team.
EDG were also underdogs for some of their series in 2024 including vs Sen in the playoffs fwiw. pretty sure many people had them getting grouped too
my fun underdog CN bet will go to nova in 2025 sometimes all a team needs is confidence to make a deep run
