once i finish the blasphemous series (peak btw), i was thinking of playing elden ring (i lowk binged smough's 13 hr part 1 lore video)
thoughts on the game if you've played it?
should i start with something older from fromsoftware?

Absolutely peak, dont need to play any games before.
Also I recommend not looking up guides to speedrun the game, just explore and experience it
ok ok, i thought it seemed interesting cuz of the lore video. the world seems hella expansive.
and i really dont get the point of playing with guides. the whole point of the games i've played so far like Hollow Knight / Silksong and Blasphemous is free exploration
unless you are lost and don't know what do to next or need the location of a strong weapon or item
Really fun game, also there isn't ever really a need to start with a different game in most fromsoft games, you can just go into any game blind and have fun.
if you plan on eventually playing all the souls games, you should start with the older ones so you don't get annoyed by the outdated mechanics later on
if you don't, you can just start with ds3 or elden ring
im thinking of playing elden ring first, then playing the dark souls trilogy from 1-3
You don’t need to start with a souls game, but I’d personally recommend it. Elden ring is accessible, but the scale can be intimidating. I’ve had a couple friends who started with elden ring and did not get a ton of interest. Personally I started with DS3 then played elden ring, and I had a blast with it
