Emerald is so goated. I would like hg/ss but I always felt like the pokemon selection is atrocious.
why ? im serious ... thats an insane game tho ? maybe im biased bcoz it was a fresh change to the franchise idk
probably the worst pokemon game i've ever played:
the combat sucks, they made typhlosion a zesty water type, the graphics are dogshit i personally hated the game design, it tries and fails to be the botw of pokemon, no gyms, bad story, you have to craft your own balls, the map is pretty empty for a modern open world game.
i mean thats just pokemon in general no? they still have 1990s graphics even now so idk ... i loved ghost type typhlosion but maybe thats bcoz i am crazy for ghosts lol

I’ve never played fully through the first gen and i’d probably put Pokemon Crystal at like 5 or something. I also am not including the spinoffs cuz that would be too long, same with ROMhacks.

I only played diamond. Curious tho wtf makes one game better than the other? I just always assumed people rank the games based off the starter Pokémon/ Pokémon in the world in general. I don’t remember caring about story, is it not all the same? You just “compete” with the other guy to beat all gyms?
So yea what r u guys ranking based off (since I only played 1 game, I just don’t get it)
what kinds of pokemon are available, difficulty scaling, map layout, and any new/improved features compared to the previous games (i have no idea i've also only played diamond)
