i think apeks was desperate tbf. all the promising duelist in emea got signed and apeks were just too late ingetting any. i thought she wouldve gone to MxS
I meme on emea a lot but there's no way their t2 scene is actually that dead.
There were a few options left still. But some like Izzy, Cned and others have already signed or have high buyouts. Others like xeus, kaajak, lewn and filu have been signed to T1 already. Others like ardiis likely didnt wanna sign with apeks.

Apeks is a small org/brand comparatively and flor has a large following (8x more twitter followers than Apeks as an org lmao) so that may be part of it as well
apeks isnt a small org, they just have little to no media presence
if you can afford to run a tier 2 org for multiple years while being in other games, you arent a small org
Fair, I meant more from the brand aspect of it. I think Apeks will likely start ramping up media presence once the signing goes through, as having her on the team will bring a significant amount of viewership, both to the team's matches and the org's socials.
yeah also it will be prob their last year in T1 bcs M8 looks insane and T2 has also very good T2 teams (Fokus, DVM, ...)

EG was her best option IMO, I can see Potter shaping her into a solid T1 duelist, but if (when) Apeks fails, Flor will be blamed for it

the entire team is just people who I would call mid or worse in EMEA, like please be serious and honest to god tell me Avova is a top 6 controller in emea. Only one you can make a case for is soulcas, who has shown flashes before and I'm rooting for, but tbh this team just doesn't have it imo. Feels like the C9 of EMEA, where they might do some damage in the regular season, and then they bomb out because they don't have the firepower to legit compete with any teams when it really matters

Molsi is at least a capable igl, avova is one of the worst players in emea tier 1, and hype id say is the worst player in emea tier 1.
They have less practice than all the other teams, less quality, and it gets worse when you consider that gentle mates built a really strong team months ago already. Even if they win some games, there is no doubt in my mind they’re getting relegated. And I felt this way long before they signed flor

and yeah, Avova is a tier 2 farmer merchant where he does good against teams who aren't good enough to be in T1, but gets shit on as soon as he plays real competition so people keep thinking he just needs some more time before he grows to be good enough. Haven't seen enough of hype to rate him but he doesn't look great from what I see about him, and MOLSI was pretty decent on Vitality, but not a good enough caller to think that they would be ranking better than Gentlemates
flor doomed to fail unlucky, hopefully she pulls a n4rrate on MLK (MADLIONS KOI NOT MARTIN LUTHER KING JR) but in t1 and gets picked up by a team who actually wants to win

it really doesn't matter how much the team struggles, she just needs to prove she can hold her own and then leapfrog her career afterwards
I could see flore being a solid player in t1 long term. That being said. This APEKS team is horrible. Soulcas is gone and even with soulcas people seem to forget the screenshots of APEKS getting steam rolled by t1 teams in scrims preparing for ascension. I hope that they aren't nearly as bad as I expect them to be, but my expectations are not high.
