C9 used to have a C9KR team, make sense for them to go KR. They also a regular on Redbull, its held in JP this time so KR/JP close by.

i mean it does, because while they had teams there they probably still have c9 fans in those areas
It's the same with FNC, Boaster is very popular in Japan, he has good relations with a lot of the Asian Valorant scene. That's why they did that whole FNC × Zeta collab, they have a pretty big fanbase in Japan and sell a lot of merch there.
Esports money is tight and JP/KR are huge markets in Valorant, if you have a chance to tap into that you should take it.

But seriously, I liked teams playing as much as possible. Some franchise teams only played 10 games the entire year
they got invited and its free publicity and money and its decent lan experience for wippie, oxy and even the rest of the players.
I think they’re both important. EG perfected scrims and a big reason why they were good
when vanity first joined, C9 played like every nerd street and off-season micky mouse cause good practice, especially for a new roster
