if they win champs, they became best team OAT
2nd place, they surpass gambit and become 4th best
3rd+ place, they remain at 5th
if they win champs, they became best team OAT

ur saying fnatic is 5th rn???? thats CRAZY
easily first already and champions win will cement that for years to come
well yeah. I think they need to place in another major. masters 2021 was an entirely different roster
? they only won Masters 2023. they lost masters 2021 plus as i said, different roster
there's just too many reasons + no one called it one until after it happened.
just can't see a pre-season/kick-off event with no prize money & barely any teams as a major
once valorant finally gets some off-season/non-major tournaments, lock-in will just be another one of those
Prize money doesn't mean anything
It's a LAN event with the best teams across the globe and winner takes the trophy
The only difference is that it's HARDER to win lock-in because there's no lower bracket so players are playing in the most pressured circumstances
And the "barely any teams as a major" makes no sense because fnatic played more games at lock-in than tokyo
cap. majority of tokyo teams played weeks to qualify for it
also, prize money means a lot. that's how teams decided what a major was in csgo
single-elim means it's harder for good teams to win and easier for bad teams to win
single elim is the single least competitive format imaginable, it made teams like talon, navi and leviatan look half decent
LOCK//IN was not Masters tournament. Sounds like some people need to take this issue with Riot, they decided that it is not a Masters (or in your head Major) tournament.
Not sure why this is still a debate, take it up with Riot, rather than fighting facts on vlr.
loud=optic > gambit > fnatic
Sen anywhere above since they had the most dominant era
this bitch is so retarded, every one of his posts just nukes every single brain cell in my body
no but by his criteria hes going by greatest teams oat not best
fnatic is the best but nobody gaf ab lock\in so cant really be above envy core who has been to like 3 finals
best=/greatest
You are deluding yourself if you think people didnt treat lockin like any other major. People worked their asses off to win it just like masters. They reacted to wins and losses the same. The conclusions drawn from the event were the same.
This is a very very silly attempt at denying Fnc their deserved accolades
and many of them didn't work their ass off bc it was only invited teams. no qualifiers and some teams were brand new
I personally wouldn't try my best in a show tournament with no money
You are not a pro. Noone gives a fuck what you would or wouldnt do.
The pros came to win and nothing else.
They worked their asses off in scrimms. They worked their asses off in the many series they played at the event.
Lockin was a Major.
for many teams, it was their first game as team
You are not a pro and not riot. Your opinion doesn't matter
he wants to glorify a 25 team show match and 5 team tournament
you can only argue nrg loud drx navi and fnatic even cared about winning lol
liquid is the only team to beat liquid in this era and they were a brand new team who got ruined by secret thats how LITTLE this event matters
pros literally did not come to win, navi literally placed top 4
it was a 100k prize pool for first place for comparision mf masters 2 in 2021 was 200k LMFAO
just not an s tier event there was 5 good teams and they were only good bc they were cores absolutely no competition.
riot literally said lock\in was just a kickstarter for franchised
A lot of the good teams now didnt care about lock\in or didnt have the same time or advantages fnatic had going into it
EG PRX EDG all needed time and fnatic just cared more than everyone else.. bc it was a show match
its a good win but lock\in + tokyo isnt as hard as envy core making top 3 4 times out of 5 straight
I choose to believe youre baiting me. A reality where a human being could believe this nonsense is one that would make me vomit from incredulity and despair.
Fnc needed time just as much as anybody else. They had 2 new players. Just like Loud. DRX had 0. A core that played together for years. PRX sucked and made a roster change. Their Locking team was exactly the same as the previous year.
The gap between FNC and the rest only increased since then. Not the other way around.
No other team ever won 2 Majors. And FNC dropped only 3 Maps in both tournaments combined...
This makes it the greatest run ever.
Lockin is a major and FNC is undeniably the greatest team of all time.
nah lock\in isnt a major sorry bro no such thing as a major with 5 teams competing lol
either way even if it was envy core making 4/5 top 3 straight at actual lan events not mickey mouse showmatches is greater than this atm..
they are the BEST team but envy accomplished more from berlin to champs 22
FNC needed time but they were together from like october of 2022 scrimming
PRX players came out and said they were just having fun at lock\in and a lot of teams got together a week or two before that event
ima repeat it again lock\in had the smallest prize pool of any international event, all 30 teams were there, no qualifiers, and fnatic had MONTHS more to practice than any other team due to immigration issues other teams had
some people want so bad to make LOCK//IN a major tournament to fit their narrative... they should just make a petition to Riot so they can update the name to "Masters LOCK//IN" , not sure why there's even a debate occurring on this. Currently the facts are more than clear, Riot didn't want to make it a Masters/Major, therefore.. it is not one. Pretty simple, even for the most braindead ppl
In terms of team strength, individual players, overall teamplay and chemistry, etc, no team in history is better than this current Fnatic team.
We'll see who they lose to in Champs, if they even lose, and the victor would have to be a really good team.
well no shit. practically every t1 team today is better than any any team from last year
They become the first valorant dynasty. You can't really call a team the greatest of all time with a life span of only three years so far.
