genuine question, no bait. is it offensive to the japanese if you insult someone for being a "weeb"?

I guess Otaku would be the term and it could be offensive because of the implications. I'm guessing in Japan society it's heavily look down on.
From my knowledge its not offensive
but I can't confirm cause im chinese, not japanese
(also TENTEN is korean playing for JP team)
yeah i know but the JP fans was offended due to the weeb stuff not the nationality stuff
ig its cause they assume jp people all watch anime and are weebs? (im chinese so idk)
There are no assumptions, Tenten literature use an anime avatar, that's what Flip means. He even specifically said the character names.
JP fans are just salty their favorite players got kicked because of racism, and just desperate to get flip kicked too. Also probably some genuine neet got triggered that he mocked his precious anime.
weeb is a term used for non-japanese. insulting/offending them should be encouraged and celebrated.
usually it doesnt.
in jp almolst everyone is watching anime even my mom
it would make sense
if youre calling japanese weebs as an insult its obviously racially motivated
maybe being a weeb is a collective insecurity persisting amongst japanese as being a weeb basically means you're a loser... and nobody likes someone to point out their possibly deepest insecurity so it is counted as insult....lol....idk bout racism tho
