yo need something to watch, something underrated would be fun...
Overflow is a really good one, especially or watching with friends and family
classroom of the elite is quite good. the LN version of it is so much better but the anime version is still good. the LN easily made it my favorite series of all time
nah lmao i read pdfs of the official TL and then for the volumes that aren't translated I read edited MTLs
there is a yt channel that pretty much gives the summary of the ln each chap by chap,it almost feels like u reading the whole chap nd not missing any details its a nice channel
why not just read the actual book tho? i assume ur talking about Unseen Whispers, right?
nope its a channel called saadisfy , i would have read the book but i liked the way of storytelling by this person
Teasing Master Takagi-San is pretty underrated i think. its sugary and fun to watch. its hard to say what exactly is "underrated" and not though
i watched it , nd it was nice but it felt like the story was hardly progressing
Charlotte
sleeper goat
bit odd at first, then becomes good, then interesting, then the finale is great
oh then i have no anime recs from me. i havent watched anime besides makoto shinkai movies in like 2 years
if you like reading manga or webtoons though, i have toooons of good recommendations
actually have you watched the makoto shinkai movies
wont last you too long since theyre just movies and not series but they are great
Every Makoto Shinkai movie has the exact same theme, aesthetic, plot structure, and characters (design and personality). Once you've watched Your Name you've watched them all tbh. It's like buying a few ACDC albums, it's all the same!
There's practically zero difference between Your Name and Weathering With You. Just make the MCs younger and replace Comets with Monsoons and add some metaphysical element. Oh and make the characters love eachother. They're not bad there's just a lack of expirementation. Suzume no Tojimari will be no different probably
ok, mostly fair, but i still love them, and theyre definitely top tier movies.
Also
Oh and make the characters love eachother.
yes. thats.. theyre romance stories. why is this a point youre making?
Magirevo new lesbian/Yuri isekai

isekai + unnaturally strong mc + sounds like mid aah worldbuilding + a character sounds like they have a villainess origin story (really boring bad trope) + mid character design
i wouldn't touch this
i like isekai as a concept and its really fucking sad to me because there are barely any that pull it off right
its not even like the insta overpowered cant be done right, e.g. Re:Zero. Sure, subaru's power is OP asf, but he doesn't fully understand it, he has to actually work for outcomes he wants, and there are real consequences for him. Most insta-OP MC's though are shallow, self insert type characters who don't have to work at all to gain strength.
There are quite a few isekai i really like, like the aforementioned rezero, but the vast majority are pretty soulless. They don't put in time with worldbuilding and immersion, they don't have well written characters, et cetera.
Some, even, ruin themselves. They start out great (Shield Hero S1) and eventually succumb to bad harem type isekai (Shield hero s2)
and then there are the ones where you can tell if they were just slightly less lazy with their plot points and world mechanics it would be fantastic but they just throw away their potential
Its just so painful. I fucking love the idea of isekai but there are so many bad ones it makes it hard to find anything good.
The only "good" bad ones are the funny ones, like the one with the Bass Pro Shop goddess and the one where the guys power is just being minecraft steve
Re:Zero is absurdly overrated lol. Even Danmachi has better characters and world building. It's all random and when you ask people why it feels like that they say "you're not supposed to know what's going on". That only works if there's actual mystery, not some goons underground looking for a witch.
I never said all of Re:Zero is good. Only how they handle Subaru's power.
Summertime rendering. I've only watched 16 episodes yet but seems good so far. You'd like it if you like timeloops.
91 Days
Gurren Laggan
Darling in the FRANXX
86
Tomodachi Game
Fruits Basket
Gleipnir
Super underrated: One Piece.
I'm joking, read the manga instead, I quite literally had to binge a full summer break to catch up 2 years ago and I've been burned out for anime since then. Still my favorite anime, but nothing hits the same.
But actual options I have not seen that may not be quite underrated, such as Violet Evergarden (Pure Beauty), I recently watched Hyouka and it's a very nice kind of casual mystery genre that's pretty refreshing, if you like RAW PURE fight scenes with almost zero regard for story then God of Highschool is great, and I know I have seen it put down already but Bocchi the Rock is legit one of my top 3 anime's so if you have any interest in a slice of life with OUTSTANDING music and good characters (especially for a slice of life) then please give it a chance. I'm not a big enough weeb to give deep, truly underrated amines, I can just provide popular ones that are just sort of looked past.
My Life as Inukai-san's Dog is an underrated series. It looks and sounds kinda silly, but it has a deep message that criticizes western society. You should take a look, to see what's going on in the world rn
