yes the heroic-outsiders spectacle was highly anticipated it was expected to peak at at least 3m but i guess cs is slowly losing its hype to the rapidly growing valorant scene

True, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Champions was the biggest Valorant event yet and 2nd Valorant official event ever with actual crowd (Copenhagen was pretty small crowd wise, so in a way it was supposed to be the first proper one). They even flew bunch of content creators there. While crowded events aren't new in CSGO and finals was played by 2 not that popular teams. So it is good for Valorant but there are factors that might have increased the viewership for Champions 2022 while there was factors that decreased the viewership for Rio Major.
