"what requirements or standards for a coach? we've had two different coaches that we were working with already that got blocked by the org they were on asking for insane buyouts. we even worked with another during stage 1. what can we do about that? they saw what sen paid for tenz and asked for ridiculous prices."

Sad really, orgs trying to take advantage of sen because they bought tenz for a large amount.

Shitty business.

so the most popular org in valorant is unwilling to invest the money needed to make their team good?

unlucky for the players tbh, Sentinels clown org

Bruv the orgs could be asking for literal millions, that's not shit you pay for a coach with no proven success (something they had with tenz, they had already won a masters event and gone to the grand finals of another when they pulled the trigger).

I'm not an expert but I highly doubt orgs are charging millions for a coach

If SEN aren't willing to buy them out (especially Rawkus since it's clear the sen players REALLY liked him) it's at least a couple of hundreds of thousands.

#20
Danny
-7
Frags

if the coach is that good I think he's definitely worth hundreds of thousands

especially since they're losing qualifiers and thousands of fans because of how much their gameplay is suffering

True. I’m not a esport contract professional but it could be an interesting idea to maybe to negotiate a contract with a performance clause so the coach can be tested .

That's what u got from this, shaz could have cancer and ud still call sen dogshit

#15

when did I say anything about shaz?

I'm saying that the org sucks for not putting up the cash for a good coach

I have tons of respect for Shaz and feel bad for the fact that he has such a huge workload bc he doesn't have a coach

damn! People do really have hate boners for SEN huh?

#23

yeah when an org is unwilling to invest in the most popular team in the game, ofc I'm going to question the quality of the management

Bro if faze is asking INSANE buyout for RAWKUS
its dumb to pay
made the team worse + never took timeouts in between game + no real coaching exp

#25

I'm not saying that the coach has to be RAWKUS, I'm saying that they need a coach

#28
-seriouspotato-

yea but at the end of the day all of this is a business
And other orgs are cornering SEN to pay up because they are desperate
IDK if they actually need to cave and pay up or no

Yeah honestly a brutal spot to be in. Sentinels is a small org so they can’t just buyout contracts 100T

So we are the ones that inflating the price of a SEN coach since we fans keep asking for a coach! Think about that! Sorry mb Shahz :(

This is unfortunate, but I understand that coaches would want more $$$ from a big org.

thats not exactly what their saying, take Rawkus for example who wanted to coach for Sen, Faze as an org probably set and insane buyout for Sentinels to buy, who knows what the number is but most insane buyouts are close to Tenz numbers. Obviously Sen isn't a ginormous org, so they can't go around spending millions and millions for every single member.

Bro, its a player who gets offered millions, unless the damn coach had won 15 /15 CS GO majors, 15 Champions val, and all tournaments he and his team had stepped on he had won. Its like he's the Jesus of Valorant if that's the case

All I learn from this is Sentinels is terrible at negotiating. Tenz is expensive because he got a LAN trophy + stream viewership. Coaches doesn't guarantee to bring in such value so it makes sense that they should be a lot cheaper

They are looking for top tier coaches prob. You are never gonna sign a top tier coach for cheap. They should be looking for less established coaches from like CD or something

I may be wrong.. but i think that he doesn't want someone who will tell him what he should do.. he want a nice coach who may listen to him instead.. someone to help not to decide.. but sometimes you need a strict leader to get better and to be able to see your problems clearly

For the most part i kinda agree, Shahz is being a bit too lenient on how he wants the team to play. SEN should start running comps that are aligned with the meta and not just what the players are comfortable with. Optic has shown that chamber can be run on almost any map and can even make Neon viable at some times.

wait so mikeshd or mce were all orgless members for a while. they got no org to organise a buyout or contract for them and even if they would i wouldnt expect a buyout as high as shahz was talking about, what happened to them?
considering TGRD was a new org i really wouldnt expect them to spend that much for a coach either and ur telling me sen cant afford one?

#39

I'm pretty sure neither of them actually wanted to coach SEN.

MikesHD tweeted "ripbozo" when sen lost a match at one point I'm pretty sure.

thats bullshit lol you dont just “no i dont want to teach a team” and give up on salary and time while actively looking for a job.

I mean, no? If you don't like the working environment why would you work there? He was already in demand as a coach for sure.

#48

why would he give up the opportunity to be head coach for a champions contender instead to be an assistant coach?

but then again, if the coaches dont wanna work with them then that sounds like an internal player problem to me

Don't cry now. U waited 1 and 1/2 years to have a coach? "We don't need coaches. We are better. No one can beat us". Where that went now? Crying as always.

that's literally fake news. shahz + sentinels have spoken out about actively looking for a coach from the beginning of LAST YEAR. they were even looking to get sean gares as a coach during the fucking IGNITION SERIES. remember? 2020?

i'm all for you shitting on shahz + sentinels for not being able to find a coach in that long of a time span, or for maybe even managing the team super poorly, or their playstyle, or whatever. it makes sense to question and criticize a team with so much hype and proven talent when they flop and when they're unable to obtain a necessary piece to their team (because yes, i agree with most people when they say that coaches are almost a necessity at this point). but stop pumping out false narratives.

#45
HardStuckGold

i would also like to say: if your org is dedicated to becoming the best then you gotta invest, its a simple concept: if the coach works and you guys are actively performing, you still buy him out. once the org gets all the success youll earn it all back.

#49

Bro idk lol it seem like sen org not doing what's necessary and trying to get good coaches there's a lot of coach they could go for or scout for. Can't really make assumptions on who's fault it is but just seem like the team got comfortable without a coach

SEN needs better negotiating otherwise no coach is going to be super interested in a team that is slowly crashing and burning into the ground. Without a hefty paycheck that is.

this is so typical of NA orgs in a lot of esports. i wish NA's mentality was more success > making profit but its deeply rooted in their culture.
