I dont agree, imo the premise of international events is have the best teams of the world, if 90% of top teams were from Europe like in CSGO, thats just how it is, you can give minor regions representation while not underrepresenting EMEA like this, if Japan has 1 slot, why not also MENA? Doesnt Arabia and North African teams deserve a slot too if Japan is there?

Don't get me wrong lol, I still watch games like CSGO even though no East Asian team is relevant in the top-tier scene. I understand the idea of striving for competitive excellence, but if you know anything about what kind of game Valorant is gearing itself to be you would understand why Riot adopted my line of reasoning instead of yours.

Look at League of Legends compared to DOTA 2.

There's no point in having "International" competition if you strive for excellence only; Riot knows this, and that's why League of Legends is the biggest esport in the world while DOTA 2 and CSGO are not.

dude ppl complain about this with league too and why riot have wildcard regions because for the most part the teams aren't as good. Its part of international competition, you get representation around the world. ppl so weird to complain and only want Na/Eu only tourny or something.

im not saying to dont give them slots, but for example in the world cup you have all the good teams, germany, spain, england, brazil, argentina, netherlands, france, belgium, portugal, uruguay. And minor regions have their chance, without affecting major regions
