How many hours in a game do you consider a lot? I'm not a massive gamer (not because I don't like gaming but because I tend to not have time or have other restrictions), so I don't really know.

1000+ maybe? really depends on the game to be honest

It really depends on the game, for Valorant for example, I'd say at least in the high hundreds/thousands, since every game is so long in comparison to more casual games

overwatch games can be very quick. It's also a very competitive game. Length of game doesn't make it casual or competitive.

Depends on the game. If it's an offline game "a lot" can be 200h-300h, online around 800h is the minimum IMO

I feel like 100 hours for most games is a good benchmark

I know I'm gonna sound super noob for saying this, but what's the difference between offline and online games?

Online you play with and/or against other real people. Offline ones is you and the NPCs.

ah I see, then what about games that do both? Also thanks.

I don't it changes a lot tbh, some games have both but they usually focus more on one of the category

Battlefield games usually have a Campaign (offline mode) and the Multiplayer (online mode) and you'll probably waste ten times more gameplay hours in the Multiplayer.

50-200, you liked the game and but got bored after a while
200-500, the game is slightly addicting and you like it a lot but the issues with the game got more noticeable the more you played
500-2000, the game is addicting but it is also one of your favorites of all time, you only stop playing it because the game is past its prime, it likely got a special place in your heart
2000+, you are fucking addicted and cant quit, love/hate relationship

As a kid I had a lot of free time, so I could play for about 13 hours a day without worrying. Now I'm turning 20 and I don't have time to play any games because I'm studying electrical engineering at the federal college. Only sometimes I still play LoL because a woman I am her colorful friend loves to play ARAM.

For story-based games

Skyrim, Far Cry, Elden Ring - 150 hours

For story-based games with active multiplayer

GTA Online kind of games - 1000 hours

Competetive multiplayer -

Valorant, CSGO, LoL, Dota - 5000 hours

If you reach these milestones, you should touch grass and try other games.
