The culture is why we got good. In cs all the young kids ever knew was even if I go pro EU will spank us. Here in val they see winning culture and they believe they can be the best. All the youngsters come to val so more tier 2 talent

A very competitive T1 scene living in a big continent with large population and large player base to choose from. Same exact reason why EU is good at CS, they have more player base than NA.
I would give a good amount of credit to G2 for helping to increase the skill level of Americas. Iron sharpens iron and all that
the west def still has an advantage with coaching depth and a bit of experience in tac fps, it really shows with how the teams are able to adapt throughout the year
