my mom grounded me took away all the food i bought and i almost died from hypoglycemia (partly my fault i take 60 iu insulin for off label reasons)

Thats the exact reason you should call CPS, just ask them what you should do, and dont let your parents know you called them. Call at a friends house, or take a few coins and call at a payphone or something

Honestly a lot of people consider this fine since they learned to work, but it doesnt seem humane since theres cases parents overlook crucial things a kid might be going through. So i feel like u should definitely call up somebody, its better to not start going downhill if theres worst case scenarios

call CPS/a hotline, idk if your high school has counselling (i guess you're in high school) and see if they can help, or, if you got a nice enough friend/family member maybe tell them about your situation and see if they can help you in any way (ex. being able to give you food, letting you stay over, etc.)
