It's a true statement, not made out of hatred for anyone. Not every religious person is a dick, I've met many kind christians, grew up jewish, and respect the good people who are religious. But good chunk of dicks are extremely religious people.

true, the texts were originally written on purpose to be very vague and so the same exact verse has been quoted to both justify horrible acts as well as condemn the same acts

They were written with kindness in mind, But then people of later generations found their technicalities so they can hate and then blame it on the book or the rules or whatever they use.

i mean yeah for the most part

i can’t remember who but someone rewrote one of the texts but removed all the magic sky bullshit and some of the barbaric punishment stuff and it was actually really great spiritual advice on how to live a good life
