The book of Revelation was written by a man named John (not related to any other Johns in the Bible) in 95 CE, about half a century after the death of Christ. It depicts supposed visions he has of the end times and is intended to detail God's ultimate victory. I am not a Bible thumper or religious but in Revelation 17, John is shown a scarlet beast with seven heads. An angel explains the beast as a depiction of the globe-spanning empires before and during John's time. Specifically, they were depicted as empires of sin because they were not followers of Christ. The angel also explains that each head represents a mountain (or kingdom, as another translation) where a king holds power.
Revelation 17:10 "There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time."
The fallen kings refer to the empires before John's day, Sentinels (2021), Optic Gaming (2022), LOUD (2022-23), FNATIC (2023-2025), and G2 (2022-2025). The king that "is" refers to the empire of his day, Paper Rex. The king that has "not yet come" is a reference to Dragon Ranger Gaming revealing itself as the next generation of Valorant but only for "a short time."
Revelation 17:11 "And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is gong to perdition.
The angel tells John that the eighth king is of the other kings in that it shares characteristics with these fallen and current empires, but that in the end God will destroy the beast in the end times. Revelation 17 tells us that the reigning empire Paper Rex will be succeeded by Dragon Ranger Gaming for a short time, before the eighth team will be the ultimate empire of Valorant before Rito games shuts down servers forever.
