They already have a GC team, and Riot needs a MENA partner team, Falcons is the obvious choice
perhaps but riot does not like teams that are owned/partially held by a government. team ra'ad were disqualified from ascension because the egyptian gov part owns / sponsors the team. pretty sure this is why they were turned down from partnership previously (and riot blocked them from buying a franchise slot in the LEC https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/14t9wbk/astralis_lec_spot_for_sale_falcons_was_in/)
they also dropped their male team ahead of ascension, since they were unable/unwilling to comply with Riots screening process
