backrooms looks stupid to me imo. i liked the subliminal take on it instead of the dumb monster shit and i hear the movie’s the latter

the found footage was never canon to the actual origin of the story tho. the entire original premise is you were stuck in a completely empty place not like the infinite ikea scp
the original story you’re talking about also alludes to a monster being there with you in the end tbf
i mean it doesnt explicitly say that and i've always interpreted it as paranoia you'd get from being isolated from anyone or anything for days months years
i have insomnia its impossible not to be when ur awake for a week straight
you should watch it! everything is very thought out and intentional, even any monsters or whatever
it's primarily a psychological horror movie - like a how do people view things based on their past type, not a i wonder whats behind that corner type
backrooms was more entertaining because i went into it thinking it'd be a shitty ass joke movie, but obsession was legit one of the well made horror movies i've seen in a few years
both are good but i'll give it to obsession
i loved backrooms, i feel like not enough of its audience has hit that crisis of change v stagnation in their lives to really appreciate what it was trying to do
but would appreciate some better chase scenes and more scares in the sequel, they made this one too lean and held back
kind of disappointing that most people are mindblown by the realization that bear is a shitty guy,
vs barely piecing together why the red haired lady stands still for the haircut but runs from the Big Guy
Backrooms was shit. There was so much going on but also nothing. There was no real substance or an interesting plot, and it was not scary at all.
