champs has a lot of teams that shouldn’t be there, a lot of teams got placed higher than they should due to this
the best team of the year has consistently been the masters 2 winner, not the champs winner (PRX 2025, FNC 2023)
you can argue that FNC were the best team of the year in 2025
also i disagree that masters 2 > champs, lot of teams getting free playoff spots even though they shouldn’t. we’ve seen how it’s played out for the past few masters events
all the 2025 winners were nonexistent for parts of the year
in prx’s case they won toronto and placed 4th at champs which is worse on average placements than fnatic who got 2nd back to back
i know they got second place b2b2b but you still have to win a trophy to be the best

hypothetically, if you had a team get second place in all three events, and each event was won by a team that didn’t qualify to the other two events, would you still argue that the consistently second best team was worse overall just because they didn’t get a trophy?

PRX's average placement was only 3.0 compared to 2.0 for FNC
If it was your scenario I may consider giving it to the FNC of that year, but I would have to look at h2h, since the trophy teams each beat the runner-up in every single event
i mean fnc wins the h2h with prx, they beat them twice and the only time prx won was the gf where prx had ban advantage
