2025 BBL vs 2026 BBL

we are two thirds of the way through the year and im reminded that BBL was an entirely different group of players and coaching staff last year. it looked crazy at the time to cut EVERYONE for the ascension team despite their promise, then it looked like it made sense in kickoff. but in stage 1 BBL looked pretty damn terrible and it may have looked like a mistake

which team is actually better?

jamppi vs rose
profek vs loita
lovers rock vs lewn
sociablEE vs lar0k
magnum vs crewen
key vs PAL

while 2025 BBL didn't make an international they were pretty consistently the fourth best team on the region behind FNC/TL/TH, and all of those teams were better in 2025 than they are right now

however 2026 BBL won at kickoff, won a game at a masters (even though it was vs furia), and made it to EWC

the gut instinct is to go with the modern day roster, but most people would place this years BBL around ~sixth regionally, which is lower than where 2025 BBL fell on their respective power ranking in hindsight

so which team is actually better? although i have to say, merging these two teams would be crazy in a world where everybody speaks perfect english

so you'd place them higher? i think they can be pretty good and some of their players are crazy but rose is a massive bozo and crewen is kinda hit or miss, as is lovers rock

i dont think its THAT crazy to draw a comparison between them

"top 4 EWC" doesn't really mean anything when that is winning quite literally one game in playoffs by a razor thin margin (and the tournament is inherently low in value anyway)

yes they won at kickoff and performed excellently but i think it can also be argued that the region was in its weakest state then, all of the teams with high ceilings failed to adjust to the new meta and absolutely stunk it up, which opened a path for BBL to dominate

not to mention the meta was basically custom made for their team, it isn't necessarily about being "higher skilled"

people forget 2025 BBL was a very strong team and they would have absolutely made it to champs in place of GX (and at least matched the top 8 placement) had the profek situation not occured right at the end of stage 2 playoffs that destroyed their team chemistry / performance

Alr take out the EWC. You can even take out Santiago results if you want. Fuck it even if they don't even get out of groups in stage 2, they still had better year than BBL 2025 just by winning kickoff.

Then "the high ceiling teams" should be ashamed of themselves that 5 rookies came and bodied the whole region.

We can make up all the scenarios we want but in the end of the day they achieved jack shit all year, literally they have nothing to put on the table to show they are even close to this new BBL.

yea idk about that i think profek is pretty good but loita's ceiling is def higher

although profek is definitely a better player than rose/crewen/LR hes just unlucky to be pitted against loita

loita lar0k crewen lovers rock all easily clears the former ones , jamppi is a tough rıva lto beat even tho rose is good jamppi just got that energy and experience.

but merging team wont work like that.those kids have some chemistry and without rose it may vanish.+ young bloods also needs other young players so unless they can find a miracle igl and duelist tihs team cant go any far then maybe 5-6th on a champions.which is a GREAT result tbh

Jamppi > rose (somehow someone is worse than Jamppi)
Profek < Loita (hes THE MOST talented smokes player in EMEA and has proved that internationally)
Lovers Rock < Lewn (Yoru merchant vs Jett merchant but the jett merchant actually has talent)
Sociable = Lar0k (insanely debatable, Lar0k obviously has more talent but Sociable was a MAJOR part in the BBL roster and did great on every role he played)
Crewen < Magnum (Don't rate Crewen very much but I'd say its pretty close)

yeah i think that while profek is a pretty solid player loita is definitely better and is one of the shining stars of BBL along with lar0k

I feel like lovers rock on bbl is less retarded than lewn on kc, but on bbl lewn had higher highs
